It's back again this year. I signed up last year, this year its only an "associate" membership. You still get discounts applicable to full members though, including hotels and rental cars.

I'm not entirely sure, but I think the link also gives you a discount on the 2-year subscription.

But all the spam you get

I'm still getting it and I've unsubscribed to every email that they sent, they must have ten lists they put you on.

I was going to pay for mine after my free year ran out but all of the mail just turned me off. Maybe I didn't uncheck things though, I dunno..

the hotel discounts are pretty nice. for example, courtyard marriot around here is around 100 / night. I can get rooms for 70 / night with a membership
