The Republicans have long played the military card and all too often used it as a weapon against the Dems and sometimes against each other. Bush #2 had a sketchy military record and when he was up against John McCain his team was despicable in the methods they used to undermine McCain's military cred. This is just another example of a right leaning group that feels entitled to exploit dead soldiers for political gain!

I was thinking about people, not the ascetics of advertisements. If that's what you are commenting on, sure, the Republicans aren't as polished no question.

Republican propaganda is generally a thing of beauty, contrary to your assertion. How else can they get working people to vote for failed trickle down economics again and again?

This ad just goes too far in the direction of mindless emotionalism, their usual forte. It's what happens when things get desperate over in Republican Land. They try to pitch to the knuckle dragger in us all.

I suppose propaganda works on some people, but I see transparent shams with little subtlety. It is certainly designed to appeal to supporters and no one can deny Trump has his. The rather humorous thing is that the two main parties have crushed any third for the better part of a century. Who was the last, Teddy Roosevelt? Trump for all his foolishness seems to have understood that he couldn't win by himself and so performed parasitic mimicry to co-opt the Republicans. Of course he's neither party but a creature unto himself. It was well played from a dispassionate POV.

I have no doubt that the Republican Party richly deserves Donald Trump & all that it means. He panders to the fear, insecurity & bigotry of their base openly & unabashedly while the leadership has always been more circumspect. It won him the Nom but I doubt it can win him the election. He's done the rest of us a favor in showing us just what's really there, however.

I doubt he can win either. What's sad to me is that we are faced with the choice between the two highest disfavored candidates to run since data has been collected. You know I don't like Hillary, but that does not make me a Trump supporter. He's too involved in his world to even be capable of pretending he's not.

Give me Bernie any day.

Trump has earned the public's scorn through his own pronouncements & just the way he is. The stuff that turns his fans into drooling idiots repulses everybody else.

OTOH, Hillary's problems are directly related to decades of relentless attacks by Repubs. Lots of people don't trust Hillary even if they really don't know why. They just know that they're apparently supposed to distrust her because she is attacked. Kee-rist- there's a whole school of mow-rons out there who entertain the idea that she killed Vince Foster, engineered the Benghazi incident & sold out her liberal ideals to Wall St. Not that there's a shred of proof for any of it.

Bernie? Riding on a unicorn, or what?

If you look at the polling data which has proved fairly reliable, Bernie was the most favorably viewed and consistently beat all republicans including Trump. This wasn't a Breitbart type site either.

The reason is the inherent dislike for both candidates. People who are liberals favored him but more importantly the non partisan voter, neither Dem nor Rep preferred him by far over anyone else.

Consequently you would have Trump supporters who vote Trump, Hillary supporters that vote Hillary and a large group of those who don't like either. For his part he's walked his talk for decades. Civil rights? Hillary and Trump fade in comparison. Neither of those risked their life or liberty in the Civil Rights era. Bernie did. So when all indicators show him the most likely candidate to win, that he's respected by a wide section of Americans, the Dems pic Hillary. It's fortunate for the Dems that Trump is running because the chances of the republicans winning was not bad at all. In the end Hillary will mostly likely beat him.

Funny thing is that I told some Trump supporters I know that voting for Trump in the primary was a vote for Hillary in the General Election. They didn't get it.

Yep, a unicorn. Bernie ran as a Democrat. Voters in the Democratic primaries & caucuses strongly favored Clinton instead. Barring some strange twist of fate she'll be the nominee. You're engaged in a form of trolling.

Might as well go on about how Cruz would be a better choice for Repubs. It's not like they brought any dogs who could actually hunt. Their chances of winning were dismal from the start. They all represent the ideology that brought us the financial crisis & the invasion of Iraq. When their own base denounces it they're fukololo.

What I describe can be found at this site.

The interesting thing is that the so called left turned on Bernie with "They'll call him a Jew and a Commie and so pick Hillary". Of course a black guy would be called names and could never win so we better never put one of those up. Obama would be beaten by the racist white voter. Surprise!

Facts don't need trolling. They only need someone to understand them. If you want Hillary, fine, but don't portray her as the only candidate who could win and I won't agree and say Obama could never hold office, because he did. So could Bernie. You apparently believe I'm sympathetic to the Republicans, but Bernie isn't one. He's demonstrated steadfast principles and people like me would rather have someone like that I don't always agree with than someone who has repeatedly caught being dishonest as the situation suits them.

It doesn't matter why Dems picked Hillary. We have, decisively. Going on about it only serves to tear down the dirty Democrats. Whatever dishonesty she displays pales in comparison to that of the Donald.
