A fairly powerful counterargument to the President's skepticism of armed guards in public schools. Obama's daughters attend a school that is protected by armed guards. Also, his daughters have a SS protection detail as well.

So the same protection cannot be offered to the children of ordinary citizens?

Although if I'm to be honest, armed guards still doesn't come close to focusing on the real issue; how to prevent the mentally unstable from getting access to firearms.

Most of these mass murders that have taken place, all have one thing in common. The perpetrator had severe mental instability. They weren't common criminals with any sort of extensive criminal background.

If we are to solve this problem at all, any policies or laws must address this issue somehow, even if it's in passing.

The school is Quaker, ie: they have a religious objection to violence. That's why the guards aren't armed.

This is untrue. If protection for those individuals is mandated by law Obama cannot cease protection for them.

If he has insufficient resources to carry out Congress' orders then he could prioritize. If you are not arguing that is the case, you're just wrong.

This is also a stupid argument anyway. The NRA was not even arguing against secret service protection. They were making the false argument that the school has armed guards. That of course was a lie.
