It's not rumor. Both carts are owned by the same people and they advertise as such. When I was last there, they'd often cook extra meat at one cart and then just carry it over to the other side if there wasn't enough to go around at the other cart.
actually, there are 3 carts in the 53rd/6th area. If you look at the signage for the OG 53rd/6th cart, they also claim ONE of the other carts on the other street corner. However, between 53rd and 52nd there is a cart "52nd and 6th Halal". They claim WE ARE THE ORIGINAL, but their shirts say 52nd/6th WE ARE THE ORIGINAL, not 53rd/6th.
Yeah, I think the DKA is underrated. The Cronut got the fame due to the concept, but the DKA is more akin to the very first time you eat a hot Krispy Kreme donut fresh out of the oven. Delicious & 10/10 would eat again :thumbsup:

False. The one in Costa Mesa is awesome, went there like 3 times when I was down for Christmas. Just as good as the one in NYC.

their hot sauce is pretty fucking hot! Being of brown persuasion, I can handle a bit of heat. And that's a lot more hot sauce than I dare put on. I bet you were shitting fire the next day.
That was actually my 2nd halal bowl of the week - I had forgotten how hot that sauce was and put about twice as much on my first bowl. I love spicy food, and there's gotta be something like ghost peppers in there. It's hotter than habanero, and doesn't have the same taste as habanero.
Sushi Nakazawa is on my list. Worth going back compare to other high end sushi places you have been?
Nakzawa is actually the highest end I've been to, but my understanding is that it's closer to the edomae style. so if you like natural, less adorned pieces then Nakazawa is your place. Of a similar style would be Yasuda (NYC) and Mori/Sushi Q (LA). If you're into the hyper soft, melt in your mouth style popularized by Zo/Sasabune, or inventive toppings in the style of Gari/Ichimura/Shunji, then Nakazawa might not live up to the expectation.
it's either a veggie schmear or a lox schmear. the veggie schmear was superior IMO.
