So this fool, has decided to flee the U.S. Now that he has revealed him self and is now outside of the U.S, it shouldn't be too hard to do away with him, and have no one find out.
I think it's pretty ironic that an American who tries to defend fellow Americans flees to China for political asylum.
Wouldn't have expected that kind of reversal of roles.
I want to win the lotto; it will never happen. There has been one single attack on the US in our lifetimes that has taken any substantial number of lives when represented as a portion of the country and even that is arguable (1 out of every 100,000 citizens on 911), and even then it came nowhere near top 10 causes of death for that year. Outside of 2001, terrorism kills fewer people in the US than people who masturbate themselves to death (and as I write that I'm inclined to believe it's not actually hyperbole and is factual).I love how everybody thinks they are recording everything and are all-seeing yet they cannot use this awesome power to solve everything immediately.
As far as this guy being a "hero", get a fucking clue. We live in a world where people want to kill us for nothing more than being who we are. You can claim that it's because we trample them under but in reality everything you have, everything this country was built on, everything you see, is because of what we have done. If you have a problem with your cheap oil, your nice computer, your 1st world way of life, then go live in the woods grizzly adams style.
This is reality, people want to kill us for any number of reasons.
They hate us for many reasons but foremost is that they want to be where we are, number one.
You think our biggest fear is a terrorist? LOL.
I am not hugely worried about a single terrorist, nor even smaller networks. I am worried about entire organizations backed by nation-states.
This is the problem with people like you, you can't even be made to see that the people who created this country couldn't even conceive of global trade let alone a country the size of the US with an economy the size of what we have.
Only simple minds think that they created a system by which nothing can ever be changed. It's why we have Congress.
Please. do so. I could use an understanding of 5th civics.... as you seem to be grounded in them..
PFC Manning was not selective, at all, with what he leaked. The vast majority (nearly all) of the sensitive and classified information he released had absolutely nothing to do with criminal or unconstitutional activity. Why is this guy being celebrated while Bradley Manning was vilified?
I have to agree with you on this. You DO NOT reveal classified information, whether you agree with it or not...especially if you've been a CIA employee.
I'll actually be surprised if the guy makes it to trial...but rather, just disappears, never to be seen again.
Wait... you can masturbate yourself to death?!Outside of 2001, terrorism kills fewer people in the US than people who masturbate themselves to death (and as I write that I'm inclined to believe it's not actually hyperbole and is factual).

wtf? is the American government the Stasi or KGB now? its a sad sad sad thing when people thing a whistle blower is going to get assassinated by his own governments wrong doings.
after the past week of hearing how detailed the NSA dragnet is i say he is a HERO. I am no criminal and the government has no business siloing my personal data for future reference.
I agree with this. His moving to Hong Kong at least shows that he understands the gravity of the situation.
Maybe he should have finished High School.....
A year from now you may decide to commit a terrorist attack, the phone data today could be vital to that investigation. The government doesn't know who is or isn't a potential terrorist. All must be suspect.
This guy is so full of shit. He says we're losing internet freedom and then he flees to China? I bet that asshole sold the Chinese a whole shit ton of secrets while he was at it.
That's f'n lunacy. The government doesn't know who is or isn't a potential terrorist. All must be suspect.
I'm pretty sure Verizon is quite aware of who you are calling everyday, heck they want to know so we can add all of our friends and family to our calling circles.
And you are willing to allow us to be open to attack from any foreign power, whether it is a lone terrorist or a nation-state?
