Right, we wanted to know what all those Iraqi trucks were transporting under the cover of darkness as our satellites caught them departing from an uninspected site often hours before inspectors arrived and traveling to a location which had already been inspected or Hussein refused to allow inspectors into.
The Bush administration position is inconsistent with the facts with one exception . . . Iraq has never met its obligations
That an Iraq has repeatedly pulled out all the stops in an attempt to hamper, frustrate, and obstruct inspections.

That was true the first time around, it isn't true this time. Now, if GWB wants to pick a fight, why doesn't he go after N. Korea? They are a threat. Of course, I know why, they'd kick your ass (oh, and they don't have the oil).

No we would kick NK arse too. BUt we have much better diplomatic means to deal with NK now.

You wouldn't stand a chance.

Not unless that's a prerequisite for a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School.

You seem to be conviently forgetting that Iraq lost a war that it started. The US and Israel did not lose the war.

Iraq signed an agreement that it would disarm. For many years it did everything it could to hang on to it's weapons and to hamper the inspectors. This is NOT a new war. It is just the finishing up of the Gulf War. It's been going on for far too long. The sanctions while not intended to do hurt the people of Iraq. Having to maintain the no-fly zones to try and keep Saddam from killing off of the Kurds and the Marsh Arabs is expensive and dangerous to US and British forces. Saddam by his defiance keeps the regions unsetteled and in a state of turmoil.

It's time for it to be over.

I assume you have proof...oh you don't...okay well you're speculation is good enough for me.

Provided it further up in the thread.

"Now, if GWB wants to pick a fight, why doesn't he go after N. Korea? They are a threat. Of course, I know why, they'd kick your ass (oh, and they don't have the oil)."
So you're just another American hater? [/quote]

I'm not a fan of US foreign policy, that part is true. Don't much care for those who support the US government's empire building efforts either.

Join the club...it consists of every insecure citizen of countries with inferiority complexes who can't take accountability for their own problems.

Hey, I live in the happiest country in the world, and we have a Rand study to back it up.

Daddy Bush probably made a large donation to the ol' school.

Yeah, it is always USA's fault. If we don't do anything we get blamed, if we take action, we are considered war-mongers...Can't win either way.

Tell us, what have your contry done to make this world a better place?

Again, how is your government any better? Has your government done anything like saved Kurds or shi'as?

Please pass your philosophical wisdom on to our President . . . The Bush administration says it has solid evidence that Iraq has weapons of mass destruction, but feels no obligation to prove its allegations before leading an attack on Baghdad.

Apparently they aren't going to show us either.

I am sure it will be shown when the time is right.

Any idea when that time is? Seriously.

Damn but I hope it's soon just so I don't have to see another post by Gaard asking "when will we see the proof".

The proof if found will be presented at the proper time. I can almost guarantee that it will not be before the UN inspectors make their presentation to the Security Council on the 27th?. Until then take a deep breath and don't hold it.

There were some people asking why the US doesn't just tell the inspectors where to look. One, they may have and the inspectors are just waiting until right before the SC meeting to find and present the evidance. Two, it's quite possible that the US knows that Iraq has the materials and the experiance to make the banned weapons. They may even have reports from defectors that they have been made. That of course does not mean the US can tell the UN inspectors exactly where they are stored.

Hagbard, you just moved into the realm of fantasy. Iraq did not believe that the US would mind if they invaded Kuwait. You can't prove it and seem to be just making things up now. I can provide a link where Tariq Aziz said that he knew the US would respond to the invasion in a hostile manner.

It is not over until the conditions of the end of the cease fire are met. They have not been met. It is not over no matter how much you whine. Try dealing with the real world and some facts for a change.

Go for it. Don't you think Saddam would be a bit nuts (haha) to enter Kuwait thinking the US might take action against them? I did read an article stating that Saddam believed he was safe in "invading" Kuwait because Kuwait was drilling beyond its border and he thought the US would back him up. I'll have a look around and post it.

It is not over until the conditions of the end of the cease fire are met. They have not been met. It is not over no matter how much you whine. Try dealing with the real world and some facts for a change.

Tell that to your President.

If the evidence comes from anywhere other than those UN inspectors, I'd be very suspicious.
