I'm assisting a FW member with his thread on this matter, so I'll post it here! The FW member somehow got his hands on the OM sales flyer 2 weeks from now (04/13/2003 - 04/19/2003). He scanned the flyer and I've arranged for initial hosting of it. Another FW member is hosting a ZIP of the entire suite of images. Q: On which page in the flyer is the Phonemate phone? I searched all through it and didn't see it. (First asked by a FW user)
A: You're not paying enough attention to the ad. The FAR 2.4 Ghz phone has 4 OMAX SKU #'s listed under it. When you pull up two of those SKU #'s, they point to PhoneMate phones. The other two SKU's point to Curtis phones.
Q: I want to "secure the merchandise" but give some of it as a gift before the sale starts. Will I still be able to PM those item(s) once the sale starts? (First asked by PrinceXizor)
A: You can safely buy any of this stuff NOW and still PM it between 4/13 & 4/19. OfficeMax only needs your original sales receipt, not the physical items. If you do give any of this stuff as gifts, just remember to cut the UPC CODES off so you can claim your rebates!
Q: For the items which aren't yet "linkified," does that mean they're not yet available for purchase? (First asked by PrinceXizor)
A: They're probably available for purchase at an OMAX B&M; however, they're not available for purchase at OMAX.COM until they show up on-line.
Q: Can the Cyber Acoustics headset/mic, which is designed for computers, be adapted to work with cell phones? (First asked by a FW user)
A: MFR Product info can be found here. That said, maybe Radio Shack sells an adapter to covert the two (2) 3.5mm input plugs into 1 "cell phone" sized plug. If you need a FAR cell phone ear/mic set, it's not too late to take advantage of this week's OM 16-20 FAR items grab-bag-o-crap (see Fellowes EarGlove).
Q: The Curtis & PhoneMate phones both claim to support Caller-ID and Call-Waiting. Do they specifically support Call-Waiting Caller-ID though? (First asked by a FW member)
A: I'd be surprised to find a modern caller-id capable phone/device that doesn't support Call-Waiting Caller-ID. For the Curtis TC981 (white), page 14 of the instruction manual verifies that this phone has Call-Waiting Caller-ID support. For the PhoneMate PMP-3850SL (silver), the front box gives the strong impression that this is the case too. BTW, the Curtis TC970 (black) appears to be the same phone as the TC981 only in BLACK. The PhoneMate PMP-3850BK (black) is obviously the same phone as the PMP-3850SL.
Q: The __________ item isn't showing up on-line at the advertised price! What gives? (First asked by TOO MANY NOOBS)
A: Heck, I'll take the blame for this one for not posting the obvious. OMAX.COM normally doesn't update their web-site with the SALE PRICES until well into the sale (although this time around they appear to have done a MUCH better job). For those items that still aren't showing up at the correct price(s)... grab a a stack of paper to write down the following directions:
STEP 1: CALL OMAX.COM and have them adjust your order! THE END.

Q: Why aren't the Imation 50-Pack CD-R's linkified to OMAX.COM?
A: OMAX never added the item to their web-site. It's a substitution item for the e3works 50-Pack CD-R's.
Q: Are both the Curtis BRAND and PhoneMate BRAND phones available FAR or is it just ONE OR THE OTHER of those two BRANDS?
A: I figured this one was was pretty obvious, but that's just me. There are TWO (2) CURTIS phone models and TWO (2) PHONEMATE phone models to pick from (i.e. FOUR (4) total phones to pick from). There are TWO (2) REBATE OFFERS available, one's a CURTIS BRAND REBATE the other's a PHONEMATE BRAND REBATE. Thus, between the FOUR (4) available phones, you can pick ONE (1) CURTIS BRAND PHONE as well as ONE (1) PHONEMATE BRAND PHONE and receive TWO (2) rebate checks! To further clarify: YOU CAN SELECT ONE PHONE OF EACH BRAND, NOT TWO PHONES OF THE SAME BRAND!!!

Response: Correct, that's why it says "(#23?)" at the moment. It's either a TYPO on the rebate form or there will probably be an additional $10 rebate of some sort (be it a 2nd $10 MIR or a $10 higher IR).
*UPDATE* My OM B&M was kind enough to furnish me w/ a copy of an internal OMAX "Mail In Rebates Quick Reference for 04-13-2003 Advertisement." The PhoneMate rebate is listed on the 2nd page. It shows that the $10MIR will be honored as $20 (I've circled the info in red).

Issue: Where's the rebate form for the Bic Z4 Roller Fine 4-Pack (Black or Assorted)?
Response: It hasn't yet been posted on OMAX.COM nor is it in the rebate books. OMAX B&M's are giving out individual copies of this rebate form (although I forgot to pick one up when I was at my OMAX B&M on 4/13). I suspect OMAX.COM will post the rebate form on-line sometime on Monday, 4/14 during BUSINESS HOURS! (Note: Once I pick up a copy of that MIR, I'll scan it and throw it up on the web for the rest of you vultures).

Issue: Are UPC COPIES really acceptable for the rebate items which appear on PAGES 7 & 8 (i.e. Emulti1.pdf) in the OMAX rebate booklet?
Response: YES! Want proof? Call the TOLL FREE # listed on the rebate form and listen to the lengthy greeting. It says that UPC COPIES and RECEIPT COPIES are acceptable for ALL ITEMS listed on pages 7 & 8! Oh, let me spare you the enormous effort of looking up the phone #: 1-877-458-3966.
Issue: Where's the rebate for I/O Magic brand CD-R media (which is being substituted for Hi-Val brand media)?
Response: I/O Magic & Hi-Val are the SAME COMPANY. I/O Magic purchased Hi-Val sometime during the past 18 months (click here for proof). Thus, use the Hi-Val rebate form, include the I/O Magic UPC CODE, and write a little note as follows: "OMAX substituted I/O Magic CD-R media for Hi-Val as Hi-Val & I/O Magic are the same company."
Issue: OMAX is substituting Kingston brand RAM for the K-Byte PC2100DDR RAM; however, there's only a $20MIR available for Kingston while K-Byte had TWO (2) $20 rebates (for a total of $40). Where's the other $20 rebate for Kingston?
Response: Good question. Will post a better answer when somebody finds out what OMAX is doing in this situation.
