Screw you and anyone like you- you are all ignorant, smug, and believe your choices and view in the world are the be-all to end-all.
You feel better to be above an "influence." Drugs are chemicals, the association with the word gives it a negative connotation.
Without LSD, we wouldn't have figured out when we did that DNA is a double helix.
And there is little doubt that Schroedinger went up to that mountain and did something
And he came down and delivered to mankind an equation more important than the ten commandments.
I know how to work that equation- the entire periodic table can be derived from this one equation, and 99% of the modern technology and amenities we all enjoy come from that equation. Because I know how to use it, and many others don't, does this make me better? No.
So you not choosing to add chemicals to your body, towards the ends of enhancing life rather than what you view as others defecating it is a choice, and makes you no better.
Not everyone that uses 'drugs' are addicts, or have no appreciation for life. Alcoholics give you the view of a user, because you know little of culture other than your own.
People who are judgmental about substance use have the view they do out of an insecurity for inexperience on the subject matter. If something is alien to a person, it is assumed to be wrong and must be abolish- a keystone of ignorance and a lack of tolerance. All that attitude does is perpetuation a self-centered attitude towards others, and is responsible for such atrocities as the Spanish inquisition and the holocaust.
sorry if you, in particular, were being sarcastic
Idiocy rises from the dead!
Anyway, the main thing is, without X-Ray crystallography, we wouldn't know DNA is a double helix. For further explanations see my first point.
