I had a NV5 on a 6800Gt and I thought it was junky and poorly made.
I would go with the Zalman. Zalman rocks.

If I put an aftermarket cooler on and the card fried I would send it back lol. Your logic is flawed because a properly installed cooler designed for the right card is not going to cause a graphics card to fail. I would put the stock heat sink on and get a replacement. It is kind of like when are car's warrenty is voided because say you put a aftermarket radiator on that is more effecient than the factory and say the powersteering went out but when you bring it to the dealer they tell you "your warrenty is voided on the whole car because it has a aftermarket radiator." You and i both know that a heatsink and fan that lowers temps will not cause the card to fail.

I have a Gainward 6800GT Golden Sample. I was looking into replacing the heatsink and fans for something a little quieter and came accross the NV5. I suspect, but I'm not sure that I can't fit this cooler to my card becasue the plate that has the output sockets on it is 2 PCI openings wide. Am I correct in thinking that the NV5 needs to exhaust throught the PCI opening immediately next to the AGP slot?
Has anyone found another cooler that will fit on one of these cards - it's the one with the full width red cover.
Here's the best pic I could find.

I got the Zalman VF700-AlCu because 1) I love Zalman's quiet products and 2) It's compatible with pretty much any performance card, so I'll likely be able to reuse it if I upgrade in a year or so.

How are you going to reuse the RAM sinks?
