Yes, they modified the original release that was for laptops only to be able to use on all nvidia cards.

Looks like nVidia's gone back to using an uncompressed mode format for the refresh rates. I'm not sure why they've had a sudden change of heart given that it's been such a long time since they originally switched the formats and most utilities now use the new version.

These drivers cause hard locks in Quake3.

This is the first beta of nVidia's that I've ever had such problems with.

Try playing for around an hour. I went back to the 2832s and they're 100% stable in Quake3.

nvidia didn't do anything. the moron that put them up hacked into them and pasted in .inf files so they work
on all versions. These are quadro drivers that have no place on your computer. they are wrecking boxes all
over the net. He also just did the same thing with the "leaked" 28.80's.

You can actually play Quake for an hour?

Cheers!

I really hate guys who tinker with drivers like that and I especially hate those guys who hack in multi-language support and other such trash. All it does bloats the files to ridiculous sizes.

Frequently, and often I play much longer than one hour.

These drivers come with a warning to install only @ users own risk. You don't have to use them if you don't want to and you are being warned that if you do use them, its @ your own risk so if something goes wrong you can only blame yourself for risking install in the first place!!!!!! So sorry, but you can't really complain, can you? Well, you can, its a free country, but its pointless in this case. Just my $0.02

Funny, I've been reading different things about 28.35 and 28.80 drivers in many forums on the net. I've had no problems with them but that's just me, drivers behave differently on different machines but to say that they are wrecking boxes all over the net is just plain wrong and untrue. I could find twice as much posts where people found them work well as where they didn't. And besides, if you do install them its only at your own risk anyway (see my previous post).

Please, spare me the lectures. I test drivers all the time and I'm quite entitled to report my results back.

Absolutely! I do exactly the same thing and so do many many other people. Some drivers I find slow where others say exactly opposite and vice versa. But its good to see so many of them out and about so that people can test them and find best one. All I'm saying is that at the end of the day, we take the risk by installing drivers that don't come directly from manufacturers, and we are beeing warned of that as well before d/l them and installing.

I don't mind the risks, I just hate twits who hack drivers and pretend they're "leaked" from nVidia.

Let be honest here, no driver leaks come directly from nVidia.
