$2000 "MSRP" and 400W+ power for barely any performance gain. Time to pucker up your wallet and power supply orifices, folks.

The only good news is prices are dropping overall and the next gen is close.

The 3090Ti is just straight up stupid...

What I like about the card is that it doesn't cook it's memory due to only having it on one side and the better design that results in way less sag. Of course, that is really more due to the 3090 being fairly poorly designed. Hopefully they design the 4090 better right away.

They wouldn't have been able to sell the 3090 if it only has 12 GB of VRAM. It was already criticized enough as is for basically being a Titan card without the drivers.

NVidia knows that there's a small segment of the market that will pay a lot of money for the top card and they're more than happy to be the one to supply it and reap the profits.

How's it performing does it consume more power or heat up? I'm going to get this 3090Ti for my PC so I need a proper review!

I suggest you look at Gamer's Nexus review:

Power consumption is 500 watt without an overclock, which is over 100 watt more than a 3090, for about 10% more performance. But with the transient load spikes, finding a good power supply may prove a challenge and/or a matter of trial and error.

It consumes less power and runs cooler compared to the MSI Gaming X Trio 3090 I had prior. Flashed a 500W BIOS on it, so that's why. The Ti is 480W with a much larger cooler.

That's not really a fair comparison, is it? You overclocked the 3090 and then argue that a non-overclocked 3090 Ti uses less and runs cooler...

Saying I'm making an argument is an incorrect interpretation. These are my personal observations for my particular one off scenario.

Technically, my 3090 Ti is also overclocked. Default power limit is 450W. I have the temp/power to it's maximum allowed at 6%, 480W. +100 core / +500 mem over the preoverclock of the FTW3 Ultra.

If there was a 500+W BIOS for this card I'd probably use it. Powe draw would of course go up. I'd have to see how the cooler copes with it. No doubt it will be better compared to my prior non-Ti 3090.

I didn't say that you make an argument, so what incorrect interpretation did I make? I said that your comparison is not fair. Gamer's Nexus compared two cards from the same manufacturer, of the same line, with presumable similar design choices.

Of course you can make the 3090 Ti run with less watts at the same level of performance. That's just the logical consequence of more of the chip being unlocked and the memory being faster. But the price is not the same, so...

Those gaming trio Xs have some terrible fans though. I dont think the heatsink is the bottleneck.

Didnt they have a wheezing screeching sound? I couldnt stand them. Also they dont seem to provide much airflow.
I don't remember them being obnoxious. My PC sat about 8 feet away from me in a closed case. The card boosted between 2020 to 2100 and remained stable with the 500W BIOS.
