Adds a security update for the NVIDIA Display Driver service (nvvsvc.exe).
Improves performance for GeForce GTX 690:
Up to 19% faster performance in Autodesk 3ds Max when interacting with large models compared to GeForce GTX 480.
Up to 60% faster performance in ray tracing applications such as NVIDIA iray and Chaos V-Ray (subject to the scene fitting into graphics memory) compared to GeForce GTX 480.
Up to 76% faster performance in the 3D extruded ray tracing capability in Adobe After Effects compared to GeForce GTX 480.
Updates SLI profiles for Far Cry 3 and NBA2k13.
Adds new 3D Vision profiles for the following games:
Aliens: Colonial Marines – rated Fair
GT Legends – rated 3D Vision Ready
LEGO: Lord of the Rings – rated Good
Miasmata – rated Good
Pirate101 – rated 3D Vision Ready
Viking: Battle for Asgard – rated Excellent
Warframe – rated Good
Wizard101 – rated 3D Vision Ready

Not much new aside from the security vulnerability fix - also has an updated profile for far cry 3 in sli. Haven't tried it yet, though. Also new 3d vision stuff if you're into that sort of thing.

I've been debating a 3d monitor with 120hz for some games I play. Thinking the shooters I play would benefit from the 120hz if the 3d sucks.

Any experience with it?

So I guess that other forum (NQHO? Whatever it's called) was right? My AMD rig got hacked, and now my nvidia rig is gonna get hack.

My steam got hacked, my WoW got hacked, my OS got hacked, my phone got hacked...

Are we never safe!?

Funny thing is that I installed these and my main monitor (Samsung S27A950D) will no longer work over displayport. I tried everything I could think of including leaving it as the only display connected, and it still wouldn't work. Luckly in my case I was only using DisplayPort because I happened to have a spare DisplayPort cable and simply wanted to try it. I changed to Dual-Link DVI and all my problems went away.

Patch notes said something about these drivers introducing DisplayPort 1.2 support. I wonder if it's related.

One of the biggest advantages is ability to output vsynced 40fps.
It's quite nice midpoint for shooters when wanting good fps with very high quality. (SSAA etc.)

Tried Far Cry 3. The game crashes on load with SLI enabled. I have to set SLI to single card in the Far Cry 3 profile to get the game to load. Changing the SLI bits doesn't help.

Thanks Nvidia for the SLI profile update! Sheeesh...

OK warning on this driver. My PC wouldn't shutdown and wouldn't start from cold boot. Right click on desktop didn't work, virus scan wouldn't finish and would hang, games wouldn't load etc. Went back to 310.70 and problems gone. Unbelievable.

Someone's bound to have issues with a driver update. It's just the nature of the beast.

Unusual way of qualifying improvements, isn't it? I'm used to seeing improvement over last driver. Showing improvement over a 2 generation old card in 3D apps and using adjective game ratings?

Well, duh heh. I dont know too many experienced gamers who run 60hz for shooters. I wouldnt want to run 60hz for anything personally.... And yeah, I wouldnt play in 3D anyways. Ive heard that shit causes headaches. 3D is more of a gimmick than anything.

Indeed! The rating system offers a gamer an insight on how the application compatible quality is with 3d Vision and nothing new really; it's been like this since the beginning. When one starts the application - there is a caption of rating --- and what settings that are not compatible.

The rating system consists of:

- 3D Vision ready
- Excellent
- Good
- Fair
- Not Recommended

The community is a great thing and there are mods to improve the 3d stereo experience, too:

From nvidia inspector I have:
DX11: 0x0C1902F5 (Far Cry 3)
and
DX9: 0x02402C05 (Far Cry 3)

I did manage to get Far Cry 3 to load fine. It's hit or miss with these drivers though. There seems to be a problem between when the game initially loads and when the Ubi splash logo plays. It went to a black screen about three times last night after the loading screen. Maybe my system is just loading the game too fast The 310.70 driver allowed Far Cry 3 to load fine in the 3 dozen or so times I started the game with them.

Anyway, benchmark results!
310.70 drivers: 60 fps
310.90 drivers: 60 fps
