I'm sure you guys are right... the X800XT/X850XT cards are probably faster, but methinks PC Surgeon is an NVidia fan.
There's some folks that just won't buy ATI and there's some folks that just won't buy NVidia. Of course there are the smart ones that just buy whatever is the fastest for the cheapest price (I'm not that smart).
Me, I'm an NVidia-only buyer, but mostly because I'm lazy, not because of any illogical hatred for ATI. You see, I have three computers in the house (all with NVidia cards)... I'm too lazy to download/save and install more then one set of drivers for all three of my computers. If I bought an ATI card I'd have to start keeping and installing multiple sets of drivers... It's a lazy excuse, but I'm a lazy guy.
Either that, or it's because I'm too old... I remember years of crappy inferior ATI cards. They were always slower/clunkier then 3DFX or NVidia cards "back in my day". I know times have changed, but maybe I'm too old for that... I dunno. Back in my day we didn't have fast ATI cards... we just bought 3DFX or NVidia... that's the way it was and we liked it.
