i dont like these drivers...and here is why.
I install them...i run the Demo version of 3dmark05... i like running it because it really checks stability. After it was finished i checked my cards temperature graphs....
the card had hit 71C If you ask me this is too hot. I want my card to last a long time..im not a rich fanboy that can buy a gtx when i blow up my gt. So I reinstall nvidia's standard top end drivers... I run the same scenario....after its finished i check the temp graph...
never gets above 65C. I have the card thats overclocked from the factory from EVGA. I break 7500+ in 3dmark 05 so 40 marks i do not care for. In games I did not try fear...nor did I bother to turn fraps on during the short time the drivers were installed...I didn't particularly notice anything...but I would not keep those drivers even if I did. I'll be happy with my slightly slower safely cooler standard drivers for now.
I wish my card would run as cool as 71C at load
thats all a joke right?
Not at all, I've still got a 6800GT. About 60C/90C idle/load
holy crap man! 90c load?!,.. do you live on a sidestreet right off of HELL er.?..lol j/k
3 hours of quake4 MP gets me 68-67c(gpu 1 & 2) full load from both cards together,.. wow you guys just made my day
Lots of 6-series cards run quite hot (and the 7-series don't)...I'm not sure I really see the humor in it though? I never get any crashes or artifacts, and this is with an HDTV tuner 2mm away from the video card, so honestly I don't care...I'm not going to fret over temperatures when the card's been running fine since 2004.
the only reason i can reference 6800 temps is because i went from a 6800GT(on 6800 release) to these cards(on 7800 release,..and im sure this fall ill be converting again if the gains are high enough depending on M2) your temps are quite a bit higher than my GT was,.. but i wasnt sayin your cards are literally hot like they are in hell,.. or that your evil and belong near hell,..lol..or anything of the sort ..wasnt really ment to be taken that serious i guess is what im sayin
