Well, the GTX version is supposed to be 10.4inches long (from last info I read) so that pic looks about right. Take and place a 10.4inch stick in your hand and you'll see length wise the pic looks about right. Picture angles/positions can distort perception some so take that into consideration. I do predict alot more Full Tower case sales in the near future though. ::chuckle::

I hope the initial supply is good enough that we don't see another gougefest. The 7800GTX 512MB is an extreme example of that because there were such a tiny number of them. At least this time there are 2 cards at launch.

if you wait there might not be supply

G80 demand will outstrip supply
ndications are that G80s will disappear as they launch and that there will be in tight supply for the first six weeks at least.

If you want one, be sure to order it on the 7th or 8th as soon as they go online, as you might need to wait a while for the second batch.

IF i WANTED one i would not wait.

i honestly dont think anyone bar intel maybe could ever hope to have more product than demand on a new high end launch

i dunno why people always hope for there to be plenty with no price gouging, they will never meet demand on such a high end product and theres plenty of people out there willing to pay more than asking for one

Nvidia GeForce 8800 specs a week before launch

http://www.digitimes.com/mobos/a20061101VL200.html
Sources in Taiwan again confirmed that Nvidia's upcoming GPU (graphics processing unit) GeForce 8800 (formerly codenamed G80) is designed to fully support Microsoft's DirectX 10 Shader Model 4.0 technology. Nvidia is scheduled to officially launch the new GPU on November 8, the sources said.

The sources also revealed that two expected versions of the GeForce 8800, the GeForce 8800 GTX and the GeForce 8800 GTS, will vary in features such as the number of stream processors (128 and 96, respectively), core clock (575MHz and 500MHz) and shader-engine clock (1350MHz and 1200MHz). Both versions will be SLI ready, with 16x full-screen antialiasing and 128-bit floating-point high dynamic-range (HDR) lighting technology.

Using Nvidia's reference designs, makers will roll out graphics cards equipped with a recommended 768MB or 640MB of on-board memory for the GeForce 8800 GTX and the GeForce 8800 GTS, respectively, the sources stated. With a different memory clock (900MHz versus 800MHz) and memory interface (384-bit versus 320-bit), the cards will vary in memory bandwidth (86.4GB/s versus 64GB/s) and texture fill rate (36.8 billion versus 24 billion texels per second), according to the sources.

Taiwan-based graphics-card makers are now completing their last-minute preparations to launch their own products in line with Nvidia's launch in the middle of next week, the sources said.

Kinda true. I am beginning to think this way too. Especially since there's not a whole lot releasing that makes me think I need to have such a high end card. Also, I find no reason whatsoever to buy Vista for at least 1 year. That leaves what? 2 whole release cycles for video cards?
