EVGA does as well.

The actual Overvolt Protection (OVP) is at 1.35v load. So I was able to go to 1.335v and get 830/2000/2000. I can't decide if I want to leave it there or go down to 1.245v where I am 800/1900/2000 stable. Life is full of tough decisions I guess. LOL

hey i got a question guys. i currently have my OC @ 731/2000memory/1832shader.
oc'd with latest NTUNE.

my question is, if i am running ati tool artifact scan and it says no errors for xx:xx.xx sec. but i see some random yellow dots/patches on the scanning window, is that okay?

Those are still errors but not enough to trigger the detection. If you let it go for awhile longer it will most likely stop with an error. Usually I get those when the shaders are one notch too high. Go down one step and it should be artifact free. Does Ntune allow separate shader adjustment now? IF not you might want to use Rivatuner so you can keep your current core clock.

The rumor mill is saying that 8800GT inventory will stay low until the 8800GTS 512MB launch December 3d has been completed.

Hopefully we will see more availability and better prices mid December.

Okay, what's the verdict upon upping the memory clocks of the 8800GT to beyond 1000MHz? Is it safe and stable? I've heard from numerous people on these forums that the RAM is rated at 1000MHz and would therefore drastically reduce operating life if the clock speeds go over recommended settings.

Good question. Some of the factory overclocked cards come with ram at 2000Mhz so I wonder how much validity there is to the rumor. On the other hand Jonnyguru seemed to think the boards couldn't handle it so..

I can barley do 670 on the core on my BFG 8800GT OC. I think its my 300watt power supply.

I'd check your idle/load GPU temps (not the environment reading) using the ATITool artifact test.

Well i only tried it at 670 on hellgate london and it had some artifacts on the characters head. I used ATI Tool Artifact test for about 30min and it came up clean. Not sure whats the deal. Temps were at 89C

Correct it is Double Data Rate (DDR) ram so multiply the frequency 2x.

IE setting it to 1000 = 2000mhz

Modding the card to increase the voltage applied to the GPU.

Just got my eVGA 8800GT SC today. So far, testing with ATI Tool 709/1728/1950 is stable. With stock cooler @ 75% load temps (ATI Tool) are ~66-68C. However, 720/1782 produced errors, and so did 720/1728.

When the ATI Tool alarm comes on and it says "Delta of ---------... No errors for xx:xx:xx" what is that supposed to mean? Since it makes a noise I'm sure it's an error, but why does it continue to say "No errors for xx:xx:xx"?

The timer resets after the error to 0 and then continues from 0.00.00:00 but at the topof the artifact scanner it will show you how long the scan has been running, it could say 0 seconds below, but 5 minutes will be displayed at the top.

Its weird that your video card tops out at 50c when mine tops out at 52c on an air cooler. and 49c in atitool.

did you test your overclock in ati tool? if so how long?
