What about graphics quality? I'm still running 97.02 because many have said that the official 97.44 WHQL's have blurred textures and other graphical issues. Does 97.92 fix that?
Anyone noticed a performance increase/decrease with these drivers?
Thanks

terentenet,

I have the exact same setup as you (except for the ram, i have 6400C3) do you ever get the bug when you cold boot? Like the windows loading bar freezes, it takes 10-15 seconds longer too boot, and SLI does not work.

I get that everytime I cold boot. I have to either restart, or go in the CP to disable and then re-enable SLI. I usually just restart cause its easier. I know another member on AT that has the exact same setup as us and he gets it occasionally. I am thinking its either a bug in the chipset drivers (the 9.53) or the video drivers. most likely the latter.

I am anxious to get new drivers for 2 reasons mainly. to fix the source fog bug, and to fix this cold boot crap. I was wondering if you tried the 97.92s and you could give me some input on these. thanks

I've downloaded the drivers, didn't get to install them yet. I will install later tonight and I will update you. I never had that issue with the cold boot. Boots fast and stable. What BIOS are you using?

the latest, P23.
but ive had the issue with P21 as well.

Its weird cause you have the exact same setup except for the RAM and the extra storage hard drives... so im getting worried that its my isolated problem now, not a bug... what could it be thou? everything was installed to a T and everything works perfectly, except for that cold boot thing.

Did you reinstall windows after flashing to P23 final? P21 had that SATA issue where SATA HDD's were getting corrupted. Maybe you're "suffering" from a plagued Windows install? Or it might be the drivers. Chipset drivers or video card drivers. Reinstall the chipset drivers and install the IDE SW drivers as well. Completely uninstall the video card drivers and then freshly reinstall them. If that doesnt do the trick, reinstall windows.
I don't know what else to say, good luck troubleshooting.
Thanks

im going to try and reinstall the chipset and video drivers for sure.

i did not reinstall windows after P23 flash. i never had any corruption problems with P21 in the first place (checked my event viewer in windows many times) but i flashed to P23 anyways.

no its just connected to my 65" mitsubishi 65732 1080p DLP ( which has a DVI port for computers too ). Which is why im so pissed that the panel scaling issue still isnt fixed. Im just lucky that my tv along with 1:1 pixle mapping mode also Has reduced mode for this reason.

Is that with Vsync also?

No, sorry. Although, the frames never drop below 20ish, I can't bear it. They barely go above 60, so the tearing doesnt bother me.

HDR+AA is still a no-go. But, hey, it looks a lot better now.

AND you dont need nhacer.what you need is:
1.install the new driver
2.start the game
3.in options turn off HDR and turn on AA to teh level you wish
4.exit the game
5.open splintercell4.ini and change the HDR line to True
6.close the ini file and right click on it.go to properties and turn on
"read only"
7.play the game with AA+HDR.when you start the game dont afraid of the
artifact you will see at the very begining.it will be over in 3 secs and you will never see it again.
OMG,it looks amazing with 1680x1050,AA+HDR

Thanks to Romul from Guru3D.

Enjoy.

Thank you for that, Cookie Monster. HDR+AA now work, and my Splinter Cell finally competes with what the XBox 360 puts out. Thanks a bunch.

Bump.

So, in a nut shell these drivers are for the 8800GTX/GTS for XP? I have it downloaded and I am now just waiting for my 880GTX. Is there even official driver support from nvidia for the 8800GTX and XP? If so, how is that performing?

Im playing COD2, Company of Heroes, NFS Carbon, and Battlefield 2. Waiting for the new Enemy Territory to come out. Any issues with the current games out on that list?

these drivers have been actually released by nvidia now, so yeah they are supported for the 8800gtx and XP. the ones that arent officially supported right now is vista. beta drivers just got leaked though.

as far as those games.... on both battlefield 2142 (which is based on the battlefield 2 engine so im told...never played bf2 though) as well as (to a lesser extent) company of heroes, the screen will often times turn into a completely yellow screen. no textures, no nothing. sometimes just individual textures will do it. thats on my 8800gts. on 2142, if i alt tab out after joining a game, and go back in, it usually fixes the yellow screen in the beginning, but sometimes it has trouble tabbing back into the game, which makes me have to restart and try it all over again.. who knows.

sometimes it seems like it has to do with the way memory is controlled on the 8800 series cards..cause it seems like it did it more as i turned up the settings. im on a dell 2407, so the res is pretty high (1920x1200), dunno if that has anything to do with it.

anyway, just a heads up!
