Hmm, it seems that 5060 Ti might be 16GB and 5060 non-ti 12GB:

The prices are a sad joke though (if accurate). Even when factoring in that these are custom models

CardPricePrice w/o VATRoughly equivalent price in USD
RTX 50704599 RMB4069 RMB$562
RTX 5060 Ti4299 RMB3804 RMB$525
RTX 5060 12GB3799 RMB3361 RMB$464

Probably fake and/or a typo. That would be interesting if 3 GB Chips were available enough to use for the 5060.

Yeah, I'll believe that when I see it. That we'd get 5070 12GB, 5060 Ti at 16 and 8 GB and then they'd use 3GB chips exclusively to make a 5060 12GB seems incredibly unlikely.

If anything they'd do 3GB on the Ti to give 5070 12GB, 5060 Ti 12GB, and 5060 8GB.

The 40 series launched a bit more slowly didn't it? It was only the 4090 and 4080 at this stage. And there was plenty of 3000 series in stock for the low end, as I recall.

So it might be possible, due to the 5070, that they shipped more total chips of the 5000 series by that time. But Nvidia conveniently ignores the inventory problem.

Basically there was nothing in stock.

Apple sells like 200 mln iPhones per year, lots for launch too and $1k does not buy you much of an iPhone these days - and Nvidia can't make a few mln cards for launch day.

Yeah. I don't remember it too clearly but it took until January before I could get a 4090.
That's my recollection too. I got my 4090 in December 2022 (over 2 months post launch) and I was extremely lucky to be in Micro Center when they put some on the shelves. Same thing this year when I got the next to last 5070 Ti, which didn't even last long enough to get the glass case closed back up before they were gone.

Oct 12 for the 4090 and Nov 16 for the (terribly reviewed) 4080. So 4090, then 5 weeks later 4080, then almost 2 months later 4070 Ti.

Nvidia's chart covers basically only the time it was just the 4090 on the market. For Blackwell, it's 3 weeks of 5090 and 5080 on the market, and 2 weeks with the 5070 Ti.

Could just be they cut the bus on the 5060 to 96bit and keep it at 128bit for the 5060Ti.

I do think NV would probably prefer to use 3GB chips on the 5060Ti just because then they won't have cases like Indiana Jones where the 5060Ti 16GB makes the 5070 look stupid

MSRP lottery! Guess who's lucky winner tonight?

One of the retailers in India decided to announce a special offer in collaboration with Colorful, which will enable three people to buy RTX 5080 cards at MSRP. The lucky people, humorously called ‘winners,’ will be asked to pay the MSRP of Rs. 1,10,000.

Yeah, I'm not sure, neither.
We are not entirely sure why the retailer thought this would be a good idea to run such a promotion, nor why it is actually possible to sell the RTX 5080 at MSRP, but only for 3 units.
