I'll speak for myself only. I'm at the point where I'm priced out, but it's largely due to the lack of performance. If nVidia wants $3000 for a 5090, it needs to be nearly twice as fast as my 4090 because I paid $1600 for it. Now, as far as absolutely pricing me out, I'd say around $1000 max out of pocket when I sell my previous card, and even that's pushing it. And again, the performance uplift (defined as pure raster performance) needs to be AT LEAST equal to the extra money spent; ideally it would be much greater.
P.S. And I do get it, halo cards aren't all about best performance per dollar for a lot of folks. I personally can't justify buying a terrible value card every two years though.
