It would allow them to not bother with the 5060Ti 8GB at all and then the 5060 could probably be in the $330 range which would probably be more than 2 extra chips would cost, especially as they will get more dies that bin for the 5060 due to being able to use ones with faulty memory controllers.

The still have the 5060 and possibly 5050 for that market segment. I think 8 GB is an issue even for the 5060, but a Ti is going to be crippled by the lack of VRAM out of the gate, never mind three to four years from now.

Real world prices are not good. The cheapest 8GB 5060 ti on Newegg is $419. The cheapest 16GB is $479.

I'm guessing the Asus Prime 8GB non-OC is a launch day special and we'll never see it again. Other than that, ~2:1 16GB to 8GB. Asus is hitting the pipe pretty hard if they think anyone's paying US$520 for an 8GB TUF.

+14% over 4060 Ti would put it a little faster than 3070 Ti at 1440p. 6% more SM than 4060 Ti though, so if you were expecting a big gain you're probably looking at disappointment.
More damning is that after two generations and 4.5 years, we might get a 5060 Ti 8GB that's $20 cheaper and 30-35% faster than the $400 3060 Ti 8GB.

Are you seriously basing the actual performance on Geekbench?
There is no reason why the gain should be any lower than what RTX 5070 has over RTX 4070( +25% at 4K TPU).
Actually, It should be even higher, because 4060Ti was BW starved.

So, about that...

In what you quoted, I admit in my postscript, that performance could be worse than expected without increase in TDP(TBP) and that basically happened. Although there was an increase, It was too small to really matter.
RTX 5060 TI 16GB 165W vs RTX 4060TI 16GB 180W -> +15W (+9%)
RTX 5070 12GB 200W vs RTX 4070 12GB 250W -> +50W (+25%)
I expected 200W(+21%) TBP for 5060Ti 16GB to be honest, didn't happen.

But yeah, I admit I was wrong and I overestimated(underestimated) Jensen and team Green.

Now I am not sure If $429 is good price or not. We will see what AMD will offer.

Despite the disappointing Average gain of 14.2%, in some games the gains are actually pretty good and in some the gain is miniscule.

P.S. Actually, the raster is still relatively good, look at RT, that's just pathetic -> +15.5% at 4K, the rest not even 10%.

This is pretty funny. Every single Blackwell part released so far has had more improvement in the dead rendering methodology than in the future of rendering.

I think Blackwell is the least impressive architecture in many generations.
