if that's the case then a 7800GTX really isn't much faster at all than an x850xt

Apparently Forceware 78.03 beta drivers take care of the shimmering, and preliminary benchmarks show that there no significant performance loss.

rollo to the rescue! looks like the INQ are a tad late on a story thats already been fixed

Rollo of course.

BUT, this is a RE-RE-RE-RE-RE-RE-REpost of the same article....

EDIT: damn you edited what I wanted to quote LOL

And besides default ATI IQ is better than default NV IQ, but not better than HQ NV IQ.

"Another German web site Computerbase , went a step further. It made a custom driver by changing the inf, where the driver could not recognise 7800GTX and use its optimisations. The card was listed as unknown but was working just fine. But when the guys went testing they noticed a massive performance drop when using those drivers, close to 30 percent and related it to anisotropic filtering. Nvidia has a lot to explain. "

That, is not good.

"God told me to strike at al Qaeda and I struck them, and then he instructed me to strike at Saddam, which I did, and now I am determined to solve the problem in the Middle East." -George W. Bush June 25, 2003
This is a little off topic, but if Bush actually said that. He is Fking RETARD. We should invent a new word for this kind of scale in retardation. Bushtard.

Do that for any graphic caard, ATI included and ill bet you you get a huge performance drop too.

As is stated, the latest forceware release is supposed to fix the problem (BUG) with little to no performance drop.
