Could have fooled me

One benchmark at one particular graphics setting. Far from definitive. Here's the rest of the benches.

How could you call someone out and say that the 680 is faster when O/C'd and then show only one bench from a review when there are four benches that, overall, substantiate that the cards are basically even?

Don't get me wrong, these four benches don't definitively prove anything either. Gives a far more accurate picture though.

This, IMO, gives a more accurate picture...

...and at 2560*1600, the res in [H]'s review

The Lightning @ 1070MHz is better showing a clock/clock comparison. Considering nVidia's turbo boost.

TPU's card would run up to ~1150MHz, on some games.

Using TPU's testing methods it wouldn't be unreasonable to believe that at hires, clock/clock the 7970 will beat the 680. I'm happy to call them even though in gaming performance.

They trade blows, and the 7970 is cheaper now and a good value. Regardless, the GTX 680 is more power efficient.

Can someone explain to me the point of getting a 690 vs 2 680s if they both end up costing the same? Is the main point just for people who have single gpu mobos/cases?

That must be the result Bella was saying was unsupported drivers.......

Did you read Hard OCP review of tri cf?

Where CF stutters horribly and makes high fps seem slow?

Nvidia will get their scaling up with more driver improvements, AMD will continue to not lose performance because they don't try to correct MS and will continue to provide a lower quality experience.

It'll likely use less power than 2 discreet cards. In this case you've got the better build quality to consider, as well.

Great of you to bash AMD every chance you get, you let no opportunity go wasted

Nobody else stated the obvious, that's how this works.

People parade meaningless fps graphs, and other people point out the other half of the story.

I didn't buy a 28nm product from either camp, so all signs point to me being a Matrox fan.

It seems that quad and tri belong to NVDA and it's not so clear about two-way SLI vs two-way CF. This is not taking microstutter into account, but nothing short of super-slow-motion cameras will definitively measure that, apparently.

By the way fish I asked you before but you didn't answer.... what video card(s) do you have in your fastest gaming rig?

Big deal. When is nV gonna release the cards avg consumers buy? the $200-$300 ones?

Or are we stuck with old models or buying AMD @ 28nm?

I truly wonder if the "Average" consumer has any idea about 28nm v 40nm.

There are plenty of 40nm bargains from both camps right now. PC gaming is exactly moving ahead at a lightning pace.

But I wouldn't want to buy or recommend Nvidia's power sucking 40nm options.

Crossfire is also better than SLI on the HD 6000 series. It seems GCN is going to need more driver work to get back up there.

If you want to sensationalize and nit pick you need to be fair and do it to both sides.

I can help

There are going to be odd ball problems here and there for both companies. By continually searching out and bringing attention to one sides issues in these threads just stirs up the pot. How about we just try a new tactic and be adults.

Four vsync links, why?

You could have just said SLI, and even Single cards have a driver issue that can cause stuttering with vsync...

The difference here is that one is a driver bug, and the other is a "feature".

Basically

and to say they have the fastest single card.

Most likely 2 680's will overclock better than a 690.
