nVidia Detanator 40 drivers and Counter-strike

I'm sure, someone out here plays counter-strike. I think these new drivers conflict horribly with the Direct3d on it. I get about 25% more lag and about 25 fps vs the 99 I usually get. Bad nVidia Bad! Anyone knows how to fix this? I rolled back, but I really would like to use the 40s.

My question is why are you not using OpenGL for CS?.... Since that`s the native API for CS & does look better.

They have gloriously f...d up so many things on that, these drivers are robust peace of s..t with ice cream on peak, massive presentation in 3dmark2001 nature test,,, all in it is one big s..t , so I am using whql 30.82 and all is working fine, Moto Gp on 40`s isn`t working like game, freeze, texture hip hop and som flickering I have seen in all aplication with this bundle s..t, so I am hoping that they will do drivers no cripple tool for they cards, whql should fix all bugs or I will kill them

I haven`t bought My GF4Ti for playing Tetris

OpenGL does look better but caps at 60FPS. This is probably because my monitor's max refresh is 60hz. I'm almost positive it can go higher but Envision's website is down and I can't get any drivers for the monitor. ::frown:: Anyway, I'm probably gonna just stick with rollback drivers, because it is obvious that CS isn't the only game affected. Come on nVidia, messing up the number one online first person shooter on the internet is a major no no.

You should try the refresh fix first to get you above 60Hz in gaming,one of these two will work with 40.41 drivers for both OpenGL and D3D in gaming,Refreshforce 1.10 and RefreshLock 2.02

Yes, Yes, let's hear it for the 30.82 drivers. I get 99fps in my Counter-Strike.

LogisticalBovine, you really gotta get your refresh and fps up. 60mghz is a real eyestrain.

its good that you have no idea what you are talking about. if you can get your monitor to refresh at 60mghz, much less 60mhz, then you are extremely talented and have a one in a billion monitor.

the reason your OpenGL stops at 60 is because you have Vsync on. it refreshes with the refresh rate of your monitor. you need to turn that off. you also need to put your monitor on at least 75hz

1280 x 1024 x 32 at 16-tap = 175fps. Gotta love those 30.82's, solid, good looking, fast and no issues.

Yup, it's your vsync. Turn it off in the Nvidia display properties.

Change the maxfps line in the config file to 100 or 99 after you turn vsync off.
