I'm running Win2k and I keep seeing these messages in my event viewer:
The nVidia WDM A/V Crossbar service failed to start due to the following error:
The system cannot find the file specified.
The nVidia WDM TVAudio Crossbar service failed to start due to the following error:
The system cannot find the file specified.
The nVidia WDM TVTuner service failed to start due to the following error:
The system cannot find the file specified.
The nVidia WDM Video Capture (universal) service failed to start due to the following error:
The system cannot find the file specified.
I'm running a Gainward Ge4 4200 using the latest nvidia reference drivers. I've reinstalled them but the errors persist. I don't use any of the features shown (Audio/Video), hell, I don't even have a TV tuner on this card. Does anyone know the registry key where this is hiding at startup? It's not in the hkey_local_machine/......../startup key nor are they run as services. The only nvidia service that runs is the Nvidia Driver helper, and that's set to automatic (I've tried disabling that service as well but that didn't stop the errors).
EDIT: OK, I see the services defined in "HKLM\system\controlset\services". The referenced files are:
nvcap.sys
NVxbar.sys
nvtvSnd.sys
nvtunep.sys
None of those files are on my system! They are referenced in many reg keys or I would be brave and trash them. Why would nvidia define reg keys for files they don't install?
A google search turns up squat and there's nothing on nvidia's website that I could find. Any ideas?
