nVidia Driver Services

I'm running Win2k and I keep seeing these messages in my event viewer:

The nVidia WDM A/V Crossbar service failed to start due to the following error:
The system cannot find the file specified.

The nVidia WDM TVAudio Crossbar service failed to start due to the following error:
The system cannot find the file specified.

The nVidia WDM TVTuner service failed to start due to the following error:
The system cannot find the file specified.

The nVidia WDM Video Capture (universal) service failed to start due to the following error:
The system cannot find the file specified.

I'm running a Gainward Ge4 4200 using the latest nvidia reference drivers. I've reinstalled them but the errors persist. I don't use any of the features shown (Audio/Video), hell, I don't even have a TV tuner on this card. Does anyone know the registry key where this is hiding at startup? It's not in the hkey_local_machine/......../startup key nor are they run as services. The only nvidia service that runs is the Nvidia Driver helper, and that's set to automatic (I've tried disabling that service as well but that didn't stop the errors).

EDIT: OK, I see the services defined in "HKLM\system\controlset\services". The referenced files are:

nvcap.sys
NVxbar.sys
nvtvSnd.sys
nvtunep.sys

None of those files are on my system! They are referenced in many reg keys or I would be brave and trash them. Why would nvidia define reg keys for files they don't install?

A google search turns up squat and there's nothing on nvidia's website that I could find. Any ideas?

All the services you mentioned are related to the VIVO function of your card (or at least that's the case on my machine). You can get the WDM drivers from nvidia or PM me and I'll e-mail them to you.

So this is a different set of drivers? Why does nvidia put in registry keys to VDD's they don't install? How about a link to the drivers?

Thanks

I'm still lost as to why they setup reg keys for something they aren't installing.

I'm at a loss as to why you would have the reg keys but no actual driver files on the system. Do you recall installing the WDM's originally? Either way, installing them should resolve the failures you're seeing. Good luck!

The only drivers I've installed ever were the reference drivers. I'm going to load those WDM driver and report back.

MrMilney was right the first time... these reference the NVIDIA Personal Cinema Drivers (for VIVO)... you can download them from NVIDIA (which you have found)... just install them and leave them installed... they don't get overwritten when you upgrade/delete/reinstall your card drivers... and as for the inclusion of the registry keys in the new drivers I don't have the slightest idea as to why they're there... unless (and I'm guessing) you installed these drivers ontop of your old ones... which could cause some incompatabilities... it's just a thought... but that's the only way I got the new 41.09 detonator drivers to work...

I can't get the drivers nor can I find them from a reputable source. I've been trying since last night and the links from nvidia's site at DEAD:

YES! Thanks so much everyone! This cleared up the eventlog issues for good.

I spent a good deal of time searching the web for a util that wipes out nvidia drivers, the only one I found was Detonator Destroyer but it doesn't work under 2000 or XP, just 9x core OSes. I'd like to wipe everything and start clean, anybody seen a cleaner for the NT core OSes?
