Nvidia Drivers Question

I am in the process of a fresh install of Windows and was about to install the drivers for my video card (an Asus v7700 GeForce 2 GTS). However, I must admit I am confused on the issue of the Nvidia Detonator drivers versus the manufacturers drivers. Are the detonator drivers a true alternative to the drivers that came with the card, and if either set of drivers will work which should I install?

In general the Det drivers will give you slightly higher fps simply because they will be the latest version from nVidia (maunfacturers are always behind NV releases as they have to add certain chunks of code to support their hardware). However with the Det drivers you will not be able to access features of your card like TV out etc...

Either can be installed and work with your card.

On my Asus v6600 Deluxe I started out with Asus drivers, but when I noticed I wasn't using the TV features (IN/OUT etc...) much I switched to the NV Dets for max performance.
