Nvidia Drivers

I have been testing a few Nvidia drivers on my 5900XT recently here are some of the results:

Nvidia 56.72 (latest)

3DMARK03 SCORE: 5268
3DMARK01 SCORE: 16237

with MSI D.O.T Enable on Video Card

3DMARK03 SCORE: 5769
3DMARK01 SCORE: 17464

Nvidia 53.03

3DMARK03 SCORE: 5385
3DMARK01 SCORE: 17099

With MSI D.O.T Enabled on Video Card

3DMARK03 SCORE: 5846
3DMARK01 SCORE: 17910

All hardware was at stock speeds, click on My Rig (bottom of page) to see my computers specifications.

D.O.T stands for Dynamic Overclocking Technology, Its a feature that comes with the latest MSI Video Cards and Motherboards. I did not Use D.O.T on the motherboard for this test. I only used it on the Video Card. This Feature raises the clock and ram speeds on your video card when its reaching maximum performance so its like a Turbo Mode.

Does anyone else have benchmarks on different driver so all Nvidia video Card uses have a good idea on which drivers to use?

did you run driver cleaner between each new driver?
can you test this driver set?
can you test UT2004 with each of those drivers?

everyone is exclaiming to get performance boost & IQ boost with the 61.34 drivers, but they arent WHQL

I tried the 61.34 drivers and i just got shitloads of errors and defects in my graphics, but i did manage to get a 3d,ark01 done and and benched 16756 so its alot lower.

I mentioned in your other post that I tried out the 61.71's and got a nice increase in 3DMArk03 (5471 to 5748). I haven't had a lot of time for gaming with these drivers, so I can't comment on IQ or stability. Although, I had zero problems running 3DMark03.

New drivers already, these beta drivers are being released fast now (although I have seen it mentioned in a few places that the recent 61.40 drivers are fake). I will test the 61.71 drivers later with my 5900xt and post my results. So far the fastest drivers I have tested with my 5900xt are the 53.03 drivers!

yeah there fake I wouldn't try them if I was you, they crashed everything on me. And yeah the 53.03 drivers are the fastest.

Don't know about the 61.40's. The last set I had before the 61.71's were the 61.11. Both of these have been fine.

Just finished testing the 53.03 and 61.71 drivers in my 2nd computer which has a xp3200 cpu, nf2 motherboard, 1x512mb ddr and a clean installation of winxp (sp1):-

Scores are (53.03,61.71)

3dmark 03 = 5089,5079
realtime hdr = 40,45
quake3 = 305,300
farcry = 60,64

ut2004:-

bridge of fate = 115,119
colossus = 114,118
convoy = 55,57
rankin = 82,87
torlan = 76,79

It seems to me that the 61.71 drivers don't really do much for the 5900xt (which is to be expected) although the increase for ut2004 and far cry was good. Stability was excellent with both these drivers and I didn't see any graphical corruption with any of the games I used. I will be able to test these drivers out fully by wednesday when my main computer (xp2500 mobile @ 2.5ghz, 2xGeIL 512mb & fx5900xt) will be free and have a fresh copy of winxp!

I was curious what the differences are if any between 52.XX driver and the 53.03 driver? I had the latter on my old 5200 and I got the former with my 5700.
