So which card are most of you guy that are going to buy the 1070 looking at? I usually go Evga. trying to decide between the Evga sc 1070 or the Asus Strix.

I'd wait on that decision a month or two until the stock is much better, everything is out, prices have maybe turned down a little, we've got reviews on everything and can tell

Yea I am waiting to compare benches between these models and the amd 480's. Probably with buy until August or so. Hopefully prices will have gone down and custom models available. Then I will make a decision.

Isn't a max oc 980 ti faster than a max oc 1070? Also new 980ti is going for $370 AR with custom cooler and pcb on newegg. Cheapest 1070 are around $450 with a subpar reference cooler.

you know one website doesn't sell those gpus all over the world. heck there are many areas where 1080/70 haven't even launched yet. even my local dealer hasn't got a single 1080/70 to sell yet.

What does your local dealer have anything to do with fury x / nano sold cards vs 1070/1080 ?

Even in my country there's FE nvidia cards everywhere and aftermarket ones already been sold out with more coming next week.

Yeah, if they could be stocking the shops they would be. Maybe either yield issues or simply that by bringing the launch up they didn't have time to build up enough stock.

As far as I understand the fab situation NV don't have any exculsive production facilities either so they may be supply constrained due to their contract fabs other contractual commitments.

You're wrong, Raising. You may have supply in Germany, but in the US, a vastly larger market, virtually no 1070 cards have been available, and thus virtually none have sold. At this very moment, there isn't a single 1070 available online in the entire US.

Termie is correct. I was VERY lucky to snag a GTX 1080 FE. Just luck and clicking on the one available.

Check the USA Newegg website and others to see where a GTX 1070 is available.:'(

Yeah I got lucky clicking on nvidia's website for my 1070 FE as well. I just decided to check at exactly the right time it seems. FWIW I'm quite satisfied with the performance at least.

I see the 1080 and 1070 pop in stock from time to time, and then quickly go out of stock. I think there is a decent supply that is selling well.

Best Buy has had the EVGA 1070 for sale for about 3 hours and still hasn't sold out. Either they got a huge shipment or people are finding it hard to blow $450 on it. I am a bit tempted to get 2 to replace my 290x....

Did you actually check stock before you posted? The 1070 has been gone from Best Buy for a while. Arriving in stock at 7am Eastern on a Saturday and selling out within hours is not what I call good stock.

Anyway, this is not an "in stock" thread. Point is that these cards are selling well in extremely limited quantities. Nvidia doesn't pay off the $2B it invested in Pascal by selling 20 cards a day in the US...

If that was the case it would be cheaper then what it costs in the states right now as $450 for the fe version would be about 580 canadian so it wouldn't happen.

Never mind. Turns out all the Pascal products have HEVC/H.265 hardware decoding.
