Bench-life says notebook GTX 1070 features 2048 SPs at lower clocks than the desktop variant, should hit the market mid August:

https://benchlife.info/geforce-gtx-1070-for-mobile-07202016

I got my 1070 strix yesterday in the mail, installed it to my system and now testing at 2100mhz core, 9250mhz memory. Heaven 4.0 score is 2641, which is roughly 36% faster than my 980 strix 1525/7800.

Nice, keep us updated.

Just ordered a 1070. EVGA model.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01GX5YWAO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

In stock. Price was $439. Used a $30 gift card I had kicking around to bring price to $409 shipped. Well within my ballpark. Very excited. Will be replacing a GTX950. System is also seeing a swap from the i3-6100 to the i7-6700. Sould be interesting all around!

Will take a while till you experience the same performance bump you're getting now. Enjoy.

With 4x GPC and 2048SP it will be 10% faster at same clock vs current crippled GTX1070 with 3x GPC and 1920SP.
lol @ crippled. The 1080 is 20% faster than 1070 and because for the first time in several generations they have exactly the same amount of VRAM so this difference isn't gonna get bigger with time.

I mean what did you want? The 1080 to only be 10% faster?

Technically every card other than the highest end is crippled.

it will be good if you can OC GTX1070 to GTX1080 level.Just like:
GTX470 can match GTX480
GTX570 can match GTX580
GTX670 surpass GTX680 like 10-15%
GTX970 match GTX980

Unless you OC GTX1070 to 2.2Ghz/10000 you pretty much cant do that(in every game)

You know 4xGPC 2048SP GTX1070 at 100-200Mhz lower clock will also be 20% slower than GTX1080 but we will be abble to OC it at stock GTX1080 level around only 2Ghz

Well ya you can do that...

Stock for stock there is 20% performance difference. You were suggesting the 1070 should have been 10% faster than what it actually is. So ya the 1080 would end be being severely overpriced in that case. You are really making no sense at all.

read what i just say you not making any sense.
No it's you who is not making sense. You want OC vs OC difference between the 1070 and 1080 to be less than what it is currently. That would really diminish the already lower value in getting a 1080.

everybody want that. Why pay 700USD for GTX1080 if you can OC GTX1070 to GTX1080level?
Its win for all customers.it has been this since GTX470.
You just deffending Nvidia. You dont make any sense at all.

GTX1070 is first x70 card that cant be OC to x80 level unless you have GOLD sample which hit like 2.2Ghz/10000

It is like Nvidia wants to sell 1080s and not 1070s that perform at 1080 levels. What a shocking development.

I joined the GTX 1070 club yesterday. I bought this Gigabyte model at Newegg for $374.99 (after a $25 Paypal promo code): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125875&ignorebbr=1

It's out of stock now.

Anyway, the last video card I bought for myself was a 1GB GTX 460, so I'm going to have a bit of an upgrade. I also was coming from a C2Q Q9550 (overclocked to 3.6GHz) to an i7-6700k, so I should have one helluva system bump. That said, I had been using a fairly stout gaming laptop for the past couple years (i7-4810MQ, 2GB GTX 860M, etc.)

Nice so the $399 model finally did come back in stock. I'm surprised that -$25 PayPal coupon still works. You're going to enjoy it.

Just picked up EVGA SC, it and FTW are now in stock at NewEgg but rep told me won't be for long. It's replacing my EVGA 770.

1070 looks pretty bad in 1440P even vs 1060.
1080 is 25-30% faster at same clock vs 1070
1070 is only 35% faster than 1060
https://youtu.be/YOGxAVfBXb8?t=300

Something smells fishy with that video. Assuming the system is otherwise identical for all three runs, and he's using the exact same settings in the game, it doesn't make sense to me.

1070 uses almost 1GB more system RAM than the 1080, and over 1GB more than the 1060.

1070 uses more GPU memory than both as well.

1070 has the lowest clocks of all three.

Somebody please explain to me how this works?

So tired of nVidia FE horseshit + paper launch/no supply keeping prices through the roof. Grrrr.

AMD providing no competition at the high end is badly hurting all of us.

MSI Gaming (non-X/Z) 1070 is an animal. I flashed the Gaming X OC mode firmware onto the card using MSIs download and then OCed to ~2.1GHz and 9.4GT/s. Got it off of newegg for $440 which is a bit more than I wanted to spend but the heatsink and PCB are very well designed and I did save $20 by not buying the Z version.

For whatever reason this Samsung RAM OCs very well and you do gain performance from OCing it.

Monitor in sig; BenQ BL3200PT. 2560x1440 32" 60Hz AU Optronics AMVA panel. Big upgrade from the 780 I had for awhile.
I'm debating a Dell 27 inch g sync monitor to go with it, the s27dg or whatever the model is. Looks like i missed another sale on it for $450.
