Just convinced jet.com to credit me $40 (the difference between non-OC and OC) editions for misleading information and listing.
So now we're down to $342 for my 1070.
Happy camper
I think I can get the EVGA 1070 FTW for $439 with the coupon it offers. Might seem like my best bet so far up to this point. Given the fact that EVGA customer service is praised I kind of feel better about that than getting the $434 gigabyte g1.
There seem to be a bunch of different strix models. I'll take a look but I bet shipping isn't free.I'd grab the STRIX. I might end of getting one my self at some point. Depends on Vega's release date. Anyway, the Strix has an amazing cooler, and most tests show it maxing out at around 62c with average ambient temperatures. The black aesthetics also means it fits in with any build color as well. I've never been a huge ASUS graphics card guy, but this year I think they did a great job on the STRIX.

The Vega release won't do very good for me now, well since I'm using a gsync monitor I just got too. If they had announced before I started buying parts I probably would have waited.
Without free returns it comes to $392 with the shop10 coupon for new users. Does that mean I would just go through EVGA for issues or newegg? Or do you pay to return it if it's dead? What about the EVGA FTW? At this price, and with 15% it sounds like a killer deal. I'd use the debit card and forgo the free return shipping.

Looks to be a new FTW win model, with a DT attached to it? No idea what that means, but it still has the 10+2 phases, just lower clock speed than the original FTW. That probably can be fixed with a BIOS flash.

I think shop10 gives you $44 off where the tripple15 takes a max of $30 off. I don't mind paying return shipping. Just have to make sure that's the case with jet.Usually within 30 days you would return your card to the reseller. Anything after that, would go through the manufacture. If the card was DOA, you'd have to return it to JET (paid by you). The chances of a DOA card are rather low.
What about the TRIPLE15 coupon?

Yea that's the type of interaction I like. I was looking at some posts from Reddit with customers posting their email threads with other manufacturers, and it was clear they were not very helpful or seemed to care.As annoying as getting a DOA card was, I can say that my customer service interaction with EVGA was entirely positive. They responded quickly and offered reasonable suggestions for troubleshooting, and actually seemed to pay attention to what I wrote.
FYI - The "DT" stands for de-tuned: http://forums.evga.com/differences-between-GTX-1070-FTW-and-GTX-1070-FTW-DT-m2525407.aspx
I'm not seeing DT attached to the name or description on Jet. Did they just remove it? I guess I would not mind buying from newegg and paying more if I'm actually getting the right model.Thanks. Looks like it runs at reference clock speeds. Since it has a dual bios, i'm sure you could flash the FTW bios, but you'd have to make sure it was stable at those clocks first. I wonder if there doing this because these chips can't hit the OG FTW clock speeds.

Why does opting out of free returns on an item and paying by debit card lower the price?
The cost of a potential return is built into the price of items you buy online, and retailers pay a fee for credit card transactions. When you opt out of free returns on an item and pay by debit instead of credit, you save us those costs, so you pay less. But don't worry: you can still make a return if you need to, for a fee of $5.99 plus 5% of the item price.

Thanks, looks like if I needed to return it, would cost me about $27 + shipping. The following is what Jet shows in the details for opt out of free returns.
Not sure if it applies to a DOA product.
From others that got cards from jet, it looks like jet gets them from newegg and sends them, since they are a clearing house. One issue with Jet is that it is not an authorized reseller according to EVGA... It doesn't look like this effects warranty much (date starts from EVGA ship date to retailer as opposed to order date by customer), and I'm not sure if this is something they even track.
Either way I would rather pay extra to get the one from newegg if that one is the real FTW edition.
Yup checking the model numbers the KR 6276 is the FTW version on newegg. The KR 6274 is the DT.I wouldn't want the DT version of the card if it was me. Sure you get a better PCB but in the end you wind up with a dog of a chip most likely. I can see no reason why it would be a DT version other than the chip not being able to run at FTW speeds.

Meaning it probably failed the silicon lottery and won't oc higher than founders edition anyway. Or it may, but it's not guaranteed.
It's between the g1 and the EVGA. Only difference is about $5. Comes out to $434 vs $439 lol. I think EVGA might be a better choice although the gigabyte would go with my board too.I've never seen a report of a single model that will oc higher than the FE, and in fact cards with upgraded power and dual PCIe connectors seem to overclock worse due to their higher power use.
If I were you, I'd just pull the trigger on one of these deals. You may be splitting hairs a bit more than necessary in choosing a card.
