Would you say your card is loud? Also, what kind of temps are seeing while at load? Ambient temp?
Honestly I can't even hear the card compared to my hyper 212 evo. It's very quiet and even pretty much almost maxed out in doom I don't hear it. I would hear my 7970ghz go off like a jet engine when I played that game.

I haven't checked temps while gaming but while running heaven it doesn't go higher than 70 Celsius during the bench, sometimes 71.

What do you guys think about this GTX1070, it is on sale right now at NewEgg.ca :

ASUS GeForce GTX 1070 DUAL-GTX1070-O8G 8GB

Core Clock OC Mode: 1607 MHz
Gaming Mode: 1582 MHz
Boost Clock OC Mode: 1797 MHz
Gaming Mode: 1771 MHz
No backplate
9.45" x 5.08"

$550 CAD after CEMCEMEM55 coupon code
It's rated higher clocks than the gigabyte windforce and seems to be less expensive. The clocks could be higher though than what's listed. For example mine says it's it's boost is 1797 but it goes straight to 1974 on stock when I run benchmarks, it will usually stay around 1924-1935 if I consecutively run tests.

Man, those prices in Canada.

Don't want to sound repetitive but 6 GTX 1070's at the Top 9 in Amazon is pretty impressive, considering how much this card costs.

I went over to my buddy's house last night to check out his new ASUS GTX 1070 STRIX. I will say, the card is pretty amazing. His ambient is around 21-22c, and his temps stabilized at 62c at full load. In silent mode, the card was boosting to 2036MHz and in OC mode it was boosting in the 2050MHz range. It didn't take much to get over 2100MHz while gaming. I'll have to go back over and do some stability testing later on.

He's gaming on a stock AMD 8350 on a 1080p montor and he's bottle-necked badly. GPU usage at 1080p was only hitting 55-65% In most games. I was showing him that he's in need of a new platform upgrade to support this card. We did fire up Overwatch @ 4K with DSR, and with EPIC settings we're getting a Solid 60 FPS. We also fired up the new Batman game with all of the Gameworks settings enabled at 4K in DSR and he was blown away. I must say I was too because the performance was really good with no AA 40-55 FPS. He hasn't owned a NVIDIA card in 10 years, so seeing batman with all of the goodies enabled was a new experience for him. He upgraded from a Radeon 380 4GB.

Anyway, all in all I think I'd grab a STRIX card if I was going with a 1070, the low temps alone I think warrant the purchase. Never mind the card was practically in-audible. I've never been a STRIX fan, but this card changes that for me, and I think ASUS nailed this design.

Not to rag on the 1070, because it's an awesome card to own, but Nvidia successfully reset the pricing bracket they started back with Kepler. When video cards can cost $700-$1000, $400-$425 seems like a great deal even if it's $25-50 over MSRP.

I don't foresee massive price wars any time soon, if ever again. Nvidia's superior perf/mm2 and perf/w will kill Vega's ability to be a spoiler. Vega 11 will probably force price drops on the GTX 1070 and 1080, but it won't be a performance spoiler.

Unless AMD can pull another HD4870/4850 out of its hat or Nvidia graciously throws a bone out with some kind of 8800GT, $450 is the new norm.

Yeah, I'm definitely not happy about nVidia jacking up the price bracket, but that's what's going to happen when they have no competition.

My replacement 1070 is coming tomorrow, damn thing had better work this time!

So the Zotac 1070 AMP Extreme is one stupidly massive card. It doesn't fit on the Air 240 case I got. In fact it pretty much only fits in 2 small cases that I have found so far which is the NZXT Manta and Thermaltake Core V21. I don't want to go Manta as I want 4 dimm slots so mini-itx is a no go.

I just noticed that while the weight of the original shipment was 3.9 pounds, the replacement shipment is listed as 14.5 pounds. That sort of worries me, but if they are shipping me 4 1070s instead I'm OK with that!

My box said it was 4.5 lb. The card only weighs about 2 lb or something. There was no way it was weighing 4.5 lb.

Funny how right after I bought my card the windforce edition comes in stock which I was pretty much set on buying lol in the first place. Oh well, no complaints though.

^ For the above if you have never shopped from Jet before you can do TRIPLE15 to get 15% off instead of 10%.

Thanks but I want my full 3 year warranty with my video card and not a 30 day warranty.
You still get 3 years from gigabyte. If jet outsources from newegg then you will have a newegg invoice in the box. I recently got an alert email (amazing because they never worked before) when the windforce came in stock again on newegg yesterday.

More than likely jet bought a bunch from newegg and is now selling them.

The only difference is if you want a replacement from jet, you have to pay $6 + 5% of the price to return it, if you give up the return option. Not sure if you would also pay to ship it back or if they would include a shipping label with those fees.

Replacement EVGA 1070 SC arrived today and I'm happy to report that this one works! My build is complete now so I could finally update my sig. Without any additional overclocking I get 7563 in Firestrike Extreme which seems fairly typical for this CPU/GPU configuration.

How did you get firestrike extreme did you pay extra for it? I'm sure if you have any other issues you won't be let down by EVGA.

At first I thought my card was broken. I tried all display ports. I used ddu to clean drivers after I uninstalled all Intel GPU drivers and then shut down. The monitor kept going into power save mode.

I had to plug the display port back into the motherboard and go into bios then switch to pcie mode. Was freaking out for a bit lol.

I wanted to fool around with benchmarks so I bought a 3DMark Steam key from G2A for $7. I'm glad you got your card to work.

Itching to upgrade and if you can get this at $350 I'd consider it... but it seems like waiting for Vega seems like a good idea. At worst it should drop prices all around due to competition and I've been chugging along with this 970 on 4K for a bit now anyway... so kind of used to it.

That's good news. Glad you're finally all set. It's a sweet card, isn't it? I was playing DOOM the other night and I couldn't even hear the fans spin up. This is at 1440p max settings. So awesome!

If you can wait, waiting is pretty much always a good idea. I got tired of waiting, but I was coming from an AMD 7870 so it's been a while.
