Gibbo @OCuk is well known. If what he says is correct that is close to 5000 gtx1080s sold from their store then it seems to do well. Yea sure he might or might not be correct in his estimations for others.

Thinking it will be mid July before supply catches up with demand. A lot of pent up demand for these cards due to the longevity of 28nm. Was hoping to snatch up a 1070 with my new monitor purchase. But July will be a better chance.

Im also thinking of getting a new monitor. Don't think I'll make a decision between a 480 or a 1070. Well at least we have time. Not to go off topic, which monitor did you get?

Thanks to Gibbo for giving us some hard number and comparison, looks like the 1080 has some crazy demand. I don't remember ever hearing about people lining up outside of retail stores before open to buy a graphics card... Guess PC Master Race is catching on.

Interesting to hear that GP104 is outselling gtx970 in the same time frame. That is insane!

Well, if you compare the 1070/80 to the 970/80 you'd expect similar sales Probably a bit more for the 1070/80 without AMD around.

It is a bit scary to see the 1080 selling that well, but you'd logically expect a big early spike in the demand for NV's very top card. If the 1080 outsells the 970 outright it would be a bit amazing.

A little further down that thread he's also given a good indication of the stock they're expecting ~this week.
(Page 92/quoted on 93.).

Plenty of 1070's - not quite sure why those took so long to start appearing - European wide estimate for ~1k 1080 AIB cards. Guess we'll have something like normality in a month or so.

Dell UltraSharp U3415W

Most games I play are fine on it. But The Division shows the age and limitation of my GTX 770 at that resolution.

Monitor is the tits though. Worth the price of admission imo for that size monitor.

Id wager that the holdouts for the new node to drop also plays a part in the ravenous purchasing. Not everyone wanted yet another 28nm node chip in Maxwell. So they passed up on it. This goes for Fury as well.
And now pascal is first to market on a new node, of course theyll cleanup.

EVGA is hitting MSI and ASUS for their OC Mode controversy. GG.

No matter what ASUS said it didn't matter. The dissatisfaction of consumers has been rampant and unwavering, resulting in multi-page discussions on various forums. Meanwhile, other manufacturers producing custom cooler GTX 1080 and GTX 1070s have been sitting comfortably watching the chaos unfold. In response, EVGA has published a marketing page on its official website titled "With EVGA, What you See Is What You Get".

Count me in this boat. Passed on last summers cards. And while the 1070 will be eclipsed within a year. The performance gain I get from moving from a GTX 770 2GB will be worth it for me.

I'm with you just waiting on availability for the EVGA card I want. The 770 is going into the second machine, 2500K and the 1070 into a 4970K. Both match up well.

3440x1440 on a 770? What kind of settings do you have to play games at to get anything close to 60 fps? My 970 can do 45 fps at 1440p medium on Witcher 3, I can't imagine what kind of hit it would take on 3440x1440.

Not positive of the FPS but they seem smooth except The Division

Warthunder - Movie
The Division - Not sure of settings but beyond what Nvidia suggests. But this is also the one that I see the issues.
World of Warships - Mostly high settings

Other two arent demanding.
Stellaris
Hearts of Iron IV

Oh ok, I was thinking newer AAA games.

I can see these sales numbers being correct. A lot of people will be buying VR headsets and will want the best experience they can get.

Replacing my Evga 760 with a 1070 once I can get my hands on one. Yesterday when I got home Newegg had a Evga FE 1070 in stock. I could actually add it to my cart. By the time I got to the forum to tell people it had sold out.
