nVidia GT200 Series vs ATI 4xxx series

Can anyone give me a brief run down of how they compare based off what we know so far? I've been out of the video card loop for ages, and want to get back in without having to read through lots of different threads, articles etc.

If someone could give me a brief run down, prices, performance comparisons, power usage etc. Really i just want the best bang for buck, but something that will blitz Crysis even with higher IQ settings on.

This will likely be locked shortly, but you can check either the GT200 or 4xxx series threads stickied at the top of this page. Alternatively, Wikipedia has decent overviews of both series, as decent as can be expected before launch.

This is a valid point and I completely agree with it

Some of us might have time to sift through some of these absolutely massive threads in order to come up with the pertinent information over the worthless fanboy dribble and squabble and other such post whoring...but I'd say most of us don't. And unless you got in on the thread early and regularly (or would religiously be a better term?) check up on it to keep up-to-date...

Of course the absolute best stickied threads are the ones where the original poster keeps his/her original post updated with the best information, however some of these threads seem picked just to cut down on the clutter and not because the original poster intended to do anything more but post their original post and then just leave it...so instead of sorting through lots of little threads there's ballooned threads instead that have just as much double posting because no one wants to read through 500 previous posts carefully enough to share their interweb feelings on the matter.

I agree with this.

No one wants to discuss anything but the new cards, and putting it all in two threads makes it hard to keep track of incoming developments.
