Would seem to me Vega is very vulnerable to an Nvidia response. gtx1080 prices are not high ($499 spotted at Newegg). The 1080 is a poor mining card, so stock and pricing should not be affected much. What if Nvidia set a new MSRP for the 1080 @ $450? IMO would be a killer move. In one stroke, it could seriously siphon off sales of both 56 and 64 Vegas. Of course AMD could respond similarly, but I think it would not be as pleasant for them to do so as Nvidia could. Not sure if they would even feel the need to rush out Volta, but would be a crushing blow to AMD if they did.
So will Nvidia do anything or just ho hum it along as if Vega is not that important to them at this point in time?
