There will always be games that don't need the grunt of a modern GPU and can do with more abstraction (Stardew Valley and the likes), but DX11 doesn't stop to exist.

However, regardless of what you think about the current state of Hitman and DX12, one can still see the following ratio:
980 Ti is 25% faster than 980 in 1080p DX11
980 Ti is 33% faster than 980 in 1080p DX12

You're free to say that this is a single event but I'm certain that we can dig up more evidence that Nvidia too is seeing scaling issues with DX11 today.

Even Total War Warhammer doesn't even bother to list any DX12 specs or performance.

Btw, devs of TW have confirmed Warhammer will get DX12. They posted it on Steam and Reddit (official sub), they are working on it and will add it when it's optimized, the goal is release date, but if they don't meet it, it will be a patch.

so wait you base your entire thought process on a game that doesnt list dx12 as a feature?
i can tell you the difference its very easy tho and the very basic but this is not the problem here..

have you even bothered to play aots? do you even know they are planning to release much more games based on this "benchmark" as you call it?
you could call star swarm a bench since it was that but calling a full blown game that clearly you havent touched a benchmark just because it doesnt favor a certain company is a bit much..

Why dont you list the DX12 successes? Because there isn't any? Its one flop after the other so far.

Guru3D were claiming Ashes was broken/stutter (when it's smooth as anyone who has the game can attest, me included) due to weird FCAT results before, even after they were told they are wrong.

^ Note that IO has optimized the game a lot on Sapienza for Maxwell, it's very competitive in most scenes. Fury X only pulls ahead in more complex scenes in town/buildings.

Do these reviewers even know how to use PresentMon properly? PCgameshardware claimed that Quantum Break stutter on everything (based on PresentMon), they were proven wrong, it only stutter on some NV GPUs.

Success as defined by YOU or by the studio?

Ashes is in fact a success, as defined by the developers Oxide and the studio Stardock. It has been profitable for them, and created an engine that Stardock will use in future titles as well as tech they can license out via multi-GPU applications.

Hitman is ongoing, it's sales are going up, with each new level released, it jumps to the top steam selling list.

besides gears of wars that a certain company actually made it worse
qb had only serious problems on nvidia because of the big compute usage
hitman its a bit of ok i guess (episode 2 must be terrible tho)
aots so far is decent on its promises
forza from what people are saying is actually "smooth" on amd
so yeah its 50/50 so far

also no one chanted aots as the saviour we only said that its the best dx12 example SO FAR thats because it is

AOTS is a massive flop, sales tell that story.

Hitman got 175K owners, far from what they hoped for. Another flop in their area. Its the worst selling Hitman without question.

wasnt you that found out that nvidia was not using any dynamic lightning on aots some time ago? before they changed back the settings from oxide?

You define success by what? Making AMD winning in benchmark after beta 2 update or you defining their success of low sales?

lets see another space rts out there that rivals aots..
hmm no ? not a recent one? only the warhammer 40.000 games that are 5-6 years old and have 1.7 userbase each?
yeah no.. most of the serious rts are old and you just go and compare it to what? is there a recent space genre rts that actually have better so far better sales that you can call it a flop? no? what is that? NO? hmm..

also we know that total war 2 is a space rts
we also know that civil is a space rts
and as i said posting older games doesnt really help your thesis that is what i did to prove the point
only supreme commander is actually close to aots not even the 4x you posted are..

it was never alive to begin with...
space rts is like the true simulators on driving genre they never get love even if they are or not a top notch game
also if you search on that area for those games that were on "beta" in steam you will see a similiar situation if we dont see any increase after its release as a retail then yes the game is dead for sure

because now you are in same position where those amd users were in GW games where Amd couldn't do anything to fix performance, because they were held back by close source GW, now nvidia is being held by their hardware . karma is bish.

also wasnt this the time that siverforce actually found out that nvidia wasnt really using any shadows and dynamic lightning ?
yeap i still remember it it was prior of beta 2 after kolloc saw it too and made the adjustments(as per he that they gonna pass more and more pp filters through async)

i know only this that they increased computing in beta 2 which is why nvidia performance tanked.
