I wonder if the 970 and 980 resale ship just sailed.
If you act now you should be OK. Just get rid of the old trash before May 27

I didn't watch the presentation. I have a 980 Ti watercooled with the clocks in my signature. Is the 1080 worth it for me to upgrade or is it a side grade?
He also said AMD was several months ahead of the competition. LOLz. What's all that about AMD always beating Nvidia to new nodes? How times are a'changing.
But Roy Taylor told us that NVIDIA wasn't going to provide good performance at mainstream price points. Did an AMD executive mislead people again ?

And a huge amount of people said Nvidia was definitely not going to get a 16nm gaming product out this half of 2016. Just goes to show how much b.s. can be found in this industry and community until we have raw data to take a look at.
BUT GDDR5X won't be in full production until 2H of this year, which means 3H for availability! RAWWWR!

Nvidia will wait for Polaris 10 to come out, then they'll bring out GM206 to align their prices up accordingly.
Presentation slide 8GB GDDR5.
It twice as powerful as a 980 Ti. It 2X Titan X so a little bit more than twice as powerful.

Special badge to say you're in the CLUB(tm).
$379 and $599.
Huge gap. There's no chance for 1070 to catch the 1080, gimped GDDR5 bandwidth starved. NV has done their homework and they want people to buy the 1080 if they want that performance.
I would be very skeptical of that statement. There's no way Nvidia will sell you a GPU that is 2x more powerful than their last flag ship GPU @ $599. If I were to guess, it has something to do with the VR demo they showed. Something about single pass rendering.
yea but how do you know its not 7.5 at full speed?
Wasnt the 970 launched with slides saying 4g? but obv discovered later, wasnt
edit:
Also displayport 1.4!!!!
8k @_@
There goes titan X/980ti resale value LOL! Anyone know knows about the 1070 wouldn't pay more than $300 for a titanx or 980ti. I'm keeping them for sure now. I'll wait for big Pascal/vega. They are going to be BEAST.
If I traded up for these new pascal cards, by the time BF5 comes out the big dies won't be far off and I will have regrets for having not waited. Big dies or nothing for me. I'll just consider the money for the 980ti's as being gone and spent. Any resale money is icing on the cake during upgrade time. That's how I have always done it anyway.
So how fast is the 1080 again? TitanX +25%?
