Do you have a link to the review of the EVGA SC ACX 3.0 GTX 1080 that will run with max boost clock using just plug and play, that is what I want, I don't like to have to tweak.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=22ePLtROm6I

He's actually running it with a manual overclock to 2000 mhz.. but otherwise (at the first half anyway) actually leaving the default fan profile alone, and not tweaking with anything. Just drop it in, pick 2000 mhz, click button go. And the fans only get to about 40%, no throttling, 70's C, no drama, install go load driver, enjoy games, runs max boost always.

So it should be more than adequate of it's default boost clock of 1875 mhz. No tweaking nothing to do.

Other subject.

Here's a table with the cards and their power connector configuration and clock speeds known so far to date.

Hey folks, I need help. I got a 1080 today to plug into my Alienware Graphics Amplifier. While it's not officially supported yet, there are people that have gotten it to work.

I'm using the latest 368.25 drivers (no other driver will recognize the 1080 and used DDU). While the card is recognized and works, I'm getting like 8fps when playing 4k games (down from 30fps in 4k on my 980 I used to have in the graphics dock).

Do I have a defective card? I'm not seeing any artifacts in FurMark. Any ideas of what to try?

I mean no offense intended towards you but I think perhaps you may get a better response and more assistance if you tried making your own thread dedicated to this. This thread is more of just a news announcements and performance discussion thread.

Got them installed. Anyone else running them now?

It's weird not seeing eight PCI-E power cables connected to video cards.

That and, even with the 900 series.. actual "Enthusiast" people, like most "overclockers" on overclock.net forums and other sites don't give a rat's ass about boost or power limits or any of that nonsense. Most of us use a custom bios, set power limit to 400%, and raise thermal limits to somewhere around 105c and then we overclock with a fixed voltage and fixed clocks. So there's no clock fluctuation and we get a steady fixed speed at all games at all load %'s, and let the cards pull as much power as they need to achieve maximum clocks and just run it up to 80c or 85c in games and clock it high.

That's either a straight up lie or just plain ignorance. Power delivery was enforced at a hardware level with the 900 series. You can modify values all you want in the vBIOS but if you want more power flowing you had to physically disable the shunt resistors on the cards.

Oh wait, I see something really odd there... so odd in fact, I require you to send me one of those for closer inspection.
I'll be sure to return it to you after I have completed the inspection.

Nice grab though!

Some 3DMark (2013) benchmarks comparing my 4-Way Titan X setup to the new 2-Way 1080 setup. 3DMark has good SLI scaling so the 2-Way SLI 1080s aren't going to beat it. It's still very good.

Fire Strike: 4-Way Titan X = 31,909 / 2-Way 1080 = 27,781

Fire Strike Extreme: 4-Way Titan X = 24,403 / 2-Way 1080 = 18,331
http://www.3dmark.com/compare/fs/8608565/fs/4627864

Fire Strike Ultra: 4-Way Titan X = 14,375 / 2-Way 1080 = 10,107

That Asus Strix card looks sexy as f***. Right now it's like 150 euro above MSRP though, hope it won't be too long before prices come down to reasonable levels.

Those are reference cards though. Gonna be loud as hell unless you use Afterburner/Precision to limit the fans to 35%. I would consider about 40% the point the NVTTM fan gets irritatingly loud. At that value it's about as loud as the EVGA ACX at 55%.

At least with the EVGA ACX fan you can maintain a good 10-15% OC with a 980 Ti with the fan limited to 50%. With the reference cooler you can't even maintain stock base clocks with the NVTTM fan below 60%.

Then again your mileage may vary. I replaced all my case fans and CPU fans with silent Noctua SB12As and have a PSU with fanless operation so generally the GPU is the only thing you can hear from my PC

Just need to get those hybrid SLI bridges on the market now so we can see if they push 2 way 1080 past 4 way 980.

Super numbes Adam

Did you try OC yet?

Getting past 2Ghz with 2500-3000rpm seems very easy and keeping temperature around 70C. (Fan tops out at 4000). However memory seems to already hit trouble at 11Ghz.

How are your results?

AdamK47, thank you for posting. Some questions. What brand of 1080s are those? Are you using the new Nvidia SLI bridge or is that an older one?

Posters if you take time to really examine the data Adam posted here and think all three other setups used quad gpus while the 1080s are only 2 and then look carefully at the scores you will begin to understand the power and potential of this gpu chip.

I'm impressed. Thanks so much AdamK47 for the time taken.

As far as I'm aware, -NO ONE- can obtain the new high bandwidth bridges, yet.. as of writing this message. They're not sold yet, reviewers do not have copies either. So all SLI results posted online of the 1080's right now are all using the old bridges.
