NVIDIA RAID ARRAY DIFFICULTIES

I'm not sure maybe I AM an idiot (you guy's certainly have insisted so on a few occasions) AND I'm sure there ARE references elsewhere on the Internet (and maybe on these forums), but so far they aren't helping.
Here's the problem. In BIOS in can create a mirrored array on my Nforce 3 based motherboard. The drivers load correctly under WinXPMCE EXCEPT that for some reason the operating system wants to load drivers for my SATA hard drives and the array is not formatable.
Suddenly I miss the days when I could format the array from BIOS. Is it just me or does it seem like at lot of other people out there (following NVIDIA's own PDF manuals) are hitting similar brick walls? I'm not even trying to use this as a boot drive (I just want a redundant storage drive).
Any ideas Guys?

I have had problems with RAID drivers in Windows Media Center too. My controller is an older LSI Logic with drivers that worked fine in Windows XP professional but when the same controller was moved to Windows XP Media Center using the WinXP PRO drivers it caused crashes, failed boots, and general instability. Using the correct driver will help.

EDIT: Congratulations on your first post and welcome to the forums.

Thanks. The drivers all seem to be Nvidia specific from Microsoft. I don't see anything on the Nvidia website directly related to MCE (it's a bit frustrating since we're about to be abandoned in the rush toward Vista). Hey! Other than this it's been MUCH more stable than Vista.

POSTSCRIPT: Actually I drop the forums and pick them up again periodically. These guys can be very useful (when focused). I am a slow adopter though (just switched to MCE, they'll have to drag me into Vista). I've been using computers since the mid 70's.

Scary, but interesting! So, after all those views and only one reply (of any real utility - although the other one was...well baffling). Before this disappears out of sight entirely just one final quick question. Maybe this is an issue with latter versions of Windows (after WinXP Pro). Has anyone successfully created an SATA RAID array with a Nvidia Nforce3 based motherboard under Windows XP Pro MCE? How about under Vista (because I don't want to try that w/o some hope that it might work)? Sounded out Nvidia on this today. Will post any useful information they provide. Thanks All.
