Why would they when a 2080 costs more? Unless a 1070 outperforms a 1080 Ti, I don't see the 1080 Ti prices coming down much.

I would expect the 2080 to knock off a sensible amount.

What's awkward is that the 2080 Ti is priced at the Titan's usual level... but we don't appear to have a Titan available? So, while its price seems crazy for a Ti, it's not so crazy if they're not planning on releasing a Titan.

Although, ignoring that, the biggest problem that I have is that I can't think of a single game that has ray tracing in it. So, Nvidia can show off all the demos that it wants and talk about how fast it is, the ray tracing capability means nothing to us right now.

Man they know they have 1070 class users that will not shell out $600 to upgrade, no way no how period. Same with 1080 Ti users and $1,200.

I'm just more convinced now that 2019 7nm will have cheaper cards and this is a cash grab.

It is cut, 8 SM's down from 144 to 136, reducing cuda cores from 4608 to 4352.

From what I recall, it's cut down from the Quadro that was already demoed.

He showed Infiltrator(?) running at 4k. Claimed the 1080ti would do it at 34 something fps, and claimed the 2080ti did it at 78 fps. Showed it running at 60fps vsynced.

that doesn't seem like enough of a performance difference to make a titan out of. that looks like more of a yield improvement, to me.

I doubt this. They've been using increased prices to pump their revenue up. At best, we may see equal pricing. 7nm wafers won't be cheap. But that's not the issue, its them wanting more revenue.

The new fan setup for the FE is going to be much quieter and run cooler than the blower one.

$1200 for the 2080ti? Thats what you expect for having the fastest card in the world, we been through this a million times.
In my opinion its high, but Mabe just like the 2080 ,its just FE prices and they will ve $999 like the rumors.

180 watts for the 2080? And faster than a 1080ti, thats a plus.

To be honest, I'd just put it under water regardless, and an FE should have better compatibility with water. Companies like EKWB make blocks for Strix cards, but they just end up costing more... both the block and the card.

Remember, these are the prices only if you want to show off for the console peasants.

The Xbox One X, the fastest console, has a GPU comparable to a RX 580. Hell, your GTX 970 is effectively more powerful than the PS4 Pro, the second fastest console.

These prices are for luxuries due to lack of competition. Where there is competition, like RX 580 vs GTX 1060, things are more affordable and you're already as good as any console.
