If I get the Ti I need to see relative performance. The demo looks promising but I want the numbers. Never ordered an FE edition, I still would want AIB.

Go ahead and pick me up one too. Ill pay you back later.

Why did you dislike the founders card last time?

Loud fan is the only reason I didn't like it.

New ones are open-air fans and should be quieter. That's the only reason I purchased an FE this time.

599$ for a 2080, $799 for the FE edition.
$1200 for the 2080ti? Thats what you expect for having the fastest card in the world, we been through this a million times.
In my opinion its high, but Mabe just like the 2080 ,its just FE prices and they will ve $999 like the rumors.

180 watts for the 2080? And faster than a 1080ti, thats a plus.

is it really $200 for the early adopter tax? i guess that's probably not out of line. with token prices cratering if retail on the 2070 settles in about about $450 by xmas maybe it'll be a good upgrade option.

Remember, these are the prices only if you want to show off for the console peasants.

The Xbox One X, the fastest console, has a GPU comparable to a RX 580. Hell, your GTX 970 is effectively more powerful than the PS4 Pro, the second fastest console.

These prices are for luxuries due to lack of competition. Where there is competition, like RX 580 vs GTX 1060, things are more affordable and you're already as good as any console.

Meh $300 for 15% more performance in the 1060 vs my four year old 970 is hardly something I'd call competitive.

I haven't seen any source for $599 for non-FE 2080, so I will assume that poster is incorrect.

How does the 2080 compare in performance to the 1080Ti? It better be faster to justify the price. Everything but the 2080Ti seems "reasonable". The problem with the Ti is that it is priced like the Titan used to be, and then a few months later the Ti would come out cheaper with similar performance, at least for gaming. I agree with you that one can charge a premium for the fastest performance, but when the 1080 and 1080Ti came out, they were both the fastest as well and certainly were not 1200 dollars.

Are these prices founder edition prices or MSRP? Because that is quiet a price jump , i do understand why they do it but this is sadly out of my range.

1060 3GBs were down around $150 and 6GBs were (iirc) $200 before the mining craze. 1070s were down in the mid $300s regularly. the mining craze made upgrading for gaming not worthwhile compared to pricing we'd gotten used to.

i don't know if nvidia is pricing these things thinking that there's been a reset of what gamers are used to, or what. i mean, they've declared that they don't expect to make much money from the mining market, and that's probably true, but that doesn't mean they aren't thinking people got used to paying those prices.

My point was not that you should upgrade from 970 to 1060 (you should not), it's that you are already at high end console performance on your 4 year old card. 970 max OC should essentially match a RX 580 anyway, so you can freely compete with the Xbox 1 X right now (besides when you run out of VRAM).

Quitting PC gaming for consoles over these luxurious optional video cards doesn't make sense. Expect the next console to feature a GPU from AMD comparable to their next 7nm card at around $200-$400, which is what you paid for your 970.

I believe it's MSRP regardless. The Ti won't be much cheaper.

These prices are 100% the result of zero competition. NVIDIA competes with themselves and as such can just eek out minor improvements and charge a fortune for them. This is Intel vs. AMD from core2 up until Ryzen.
