Looks pretty good, if you believe the numbers.

Yeah, saw the updated article. The 1080ti will remain the placeholder between themPretty obvious it's a typo.
Hmm, surprisingly there are 2070's for $499, well on backorder. It's not an amazing deal by any means but it might be worth the extra 50 bucks compared to the 1080.
Still say waiting for next year and the presumed shrink is a better call.
Previous generation from both nVidia and AMD were more or less on perpetual "backorder" at those very rarely met MSRPs. I wouldn't doubt that a few pre-orders and a slow trickle of newish, first-run buyers will get some units at MSRP, but it will probably be a negligible percentage in the end.
If they were gonna make a whole new chip anyway (TU106) they should have just axed the RTX cores for this one.
AMD did the same thing with the RX 480. It was "$199", with the crappy reference blower cooler, but it got sold out and was never available again.
MSRP is basically a weapon for marketing.
Then they can't charge higher prices, and that's not preferable.The consumer electronics market has peaked, and volume is no longer increasing. Increasing prices enough so its not noticeable to most is the way to increase revenue.

I am still in the market for a new card and have been waiting for the 2070's for an upgrade but now kinda thinking of going all out and getting the Evga RTX 2080 XC non ultra if only it would drop back down $50 bucks to the msrp of $749.99. there is like 15% back right now on purchases over $50 bucks and up to $50 bucks so not sure if I should just pull the trigger now or wait till black friday..The $600 Founders Edition of the RTX 2070 vs. the $500 EVGA RTX 2070 Black with 38 games.

I will be buying a 100hz+ 1440p monitor so I will likely just grab the cheapest 2070 I can my hands on and overclock it. That should get me by for 1440p high settings, I dont do ultra settings, its not worth it.So Happy, which one are you gonna get?? I honestly think Touring needs some driver refinements.Damn I’m very happy with my Red Devil RX Vega 56 performance. It’s essentially tied with the 2070 in several DX12 titles.
Shouldn’t Turing be faster in DX12?

Mabe Nvidia needs to nerf the 10 series driver to get more performance out of Touring.

Yea what a joke. No wonder AC Odyssey was running lower frames for me lately..something felt more choppy. All so that they can make the 20 series seem better. Now I'm dipping in the 50's. No reason for them to do this at all when they can have two sets of driver classes.
no I was saying mabe to optimize for the new TOURING architecture they are finding it hard to keep performance high for Pascal also.
