Do you still remember the KBL-X Intel CPUs?Can you guys still remember the backlash to Intel announcing the K-series of chips? Or the HEDT product split!? Kudos to NV if they bull it off, wake up call to Intel - this is your chance!
No kidding. When I saw this thread had posts (ie meaning reviews are out) I hit up anandtech, and nothing. Not even a place holder. Such a shame. RIP Anandtech of old. I grew up on AT, now I'm checking Gamernexus for "in depth" coverage. Feels weird.
Some here.Are there any compute test/results?
These are SANDRA benchmark which uses OpenCL, NVIDIA dont optimize it or support it well since they have CUDA.
Looking at hardware specs, do the RT-Cores (whatever they're called) do anything when not being used?

Gamersnexus is my favorite YT tech channel.
But this release, you don't need to see many reviews for the pattern to emerge.
2080 = 1080 Ti.
2080Ti = ~30% faster.
Done.
IMO you may as well wait for games with new features active (RT and DLSS) to do any kind of meaningful in depth analysis.
I dont know about you but the more reviews I read/watch the more feels like "NVIDIA copy/paste AMDs Vega launch", they just added a cherry on top with the extra price.
I'm actually having a struggle with myself to keep my ftw3 2080ti order or cancel it. I can afford it but at the same time do I really need it for 1440p?
Only reconsideration would be if I had a 4k screen.
Yeah I've really grown to like Steve's content. He's a no-bullshit kinda guy that doesn't ever cater to hype and company marketing antics. Great content work on detailed hardware testing for power, heat and build quality. He's been on my Patreon subscription list for awhile now.Gamersnexus is my favorite YT tech channel.
True, I do use a Samsung Odyssey headset for a military flight sim software which this 2080ti will definitely help when increasing pixel density. In fact before these new games came out, that's all I was working on so the extra horsepower will come in handy.This are basically "toys" for us. I always rationalize my big purchases with how much use do I get out of it. I'm sure if I were to list the games I play, most here would be like "you're a fool" but hey, I'm a happy fool . I'm on 3440x1440@100, and my 1080 Ti gets me there on most of my games. Only a few where I throw AA drops <60.
/shrug. I saved more money when I stopped buying coffee at work after they almost doubled the price of a large cup. Less visits to the work cafe resulted in less snacks, lost weight, got more money for stupid stuff, and the balance of life returns haha.
Definitely don't buy or think about it if you'll have regret. Regret ruins everything! EVERYTHING!!! haha.
EDIT:
Assuming I keep this card for 2 years, and I'll use it daily, that works out to $1.75 a day. That's $0.25 cents less than the large coffee I was normally buying at work.
$1.75 a day for something I'd use daily, and most likely enjoy? Worth it.

First up, we have the Video Shader Compute and GPGPU Shader Processing benchmarks built into SiSoft SANDRA 2018. These tests performs a series of floating point operations on the GPU and reports the average speed of calculations. The Shader Compute test uses DirectX, while CUDA or OpenCL is employed for the NVIDIA GeForce or Radeon cards, respectively, in the GPGPU Shader Processing tests...

haha yeah eventually. He's got some newer equipment as well which will allow some extensive testing once they figure out how it worksOh, he's figured out how to use a clamp meter now?
I stopped buying coffee at work and now I just make my own after I've gotten several people to complain in the department that our coffee is worse than the one they serve in prisons.
Because attention on the 2080 is divided between it and the 2080ti. That was the point of including the 2080ti in this launch, to serve as a cover for the utter failure of the 2080.How is everyone not just trashing this crap 2080 card? So I could have gotten 2080 performance a year and a half ago for $100 less with 3GB more VRAM on a 1080 Ti and this card isn't a steaming pile of failure?
SLI bridges are not ready yet.Anyone seen any SLI reviews? I haven't been able to find any. Guru3d usually always had them at launch I think but not this time.
