I can't speak on others' opinions/beliefs... I was curious though, and I think that anyone should be given a fair shot to either confirm or deny their involvement.

As for myself: I am not now, nor have I ever been involved in any sort of focus group, beta test, or have I received any free or discounted goods from any of the manufacturers or their representatives with respect to any of the products discussed in this forum. Should I receive such items in the future, I may or may not disclose this at my discretion. However, I will not ever be willing to enter into an agreement that involves receiving free or discounted goods that does not allow me the option to disclose the receipt of said goods.

Check for anything edited after this came out, or even two weeks before... Be interesting to see if his origional posts have an edited date long after it... That would imply deceit to an even higher level.

I would do it, but it isn't worth my time and I am already convinced of the deceitfullness.

This is getting ridiculous. You're the only one who's having these major issue with an the x1800xl. Everyone else is fine. For a self proclaimed enthusiast who goes through cards at a ridiculous rate, you'd be semi competant at installing a new card. Obviously not the case.

I hope the nickles and dimes being tossed your way are worth the various defmation tactics against one company that you constantly spew on here. You're a sad lilttle man.

Good stuff, but remember:

AEG is a PR firm managing online relations for companies that REALLY require a PR spin. Microsoft, AOL, NV during the dark, grim FX days. Assuming the damage is limited to running a beta program for 6 guys on b3d's forums (which due to presence of ATI's employees answering hardware questions seem to be a bit more ATI friendly than most) that also happen to be very prolific and knowlegeable posters is a bit naiive.

That's the real problem. When you read logical, thought out postings from someone time and time again and then notice their rig is a high end SLI box, you tend to assume they've done analysis and come to the conclusion that a high end SLI rig is the best value for their enthusiast dollar.

When in reality nothing could be further from the truth.

If we knew a priori that said people were in AEG's viral marketing program as opposed to coughing up $1500+ for the SLI hardware in their .sig, I'm positive none of the flaming would be in progress. The only real objection people had was the hidden aspect, and in the Rollo case, being not so truthful and inflamatory aspect.
