all of that said, amd is pwning right now, large and in charge with the world's fastest single gpu. the spin doctors can say whatever they want, but in the here-and-now amd wins.

I have to agree I will not be butthurt when NV launches a faster chip... it is inevitable. The thing is I had about $500 budgeted to a videocard and bought a 7970 because it is clearly better then a gtx580. If a 680 is 25% faster then my card I wont go crying about but some people who upgraded from 580's might be a little upset.

Actually that might be semi-accurate, because AMD is a major sponsor of Charlie's site, and AMD marketing apparently had a big shakeup recently, with a potential casualty being the money they paid to advertise on Charlie's site.

and so what? really everyone was expecting nvidia to get a bigger chip out at some point and be faster than amd this round too.


What I dont believe is the rumored specs, I dont think nvidia can beat a 7970 with a 256bit bus, and use less power to get better performance than AMD.

Basically, almost everything about Kepler so far is rumors. The technical specifications are probably valid, but price, release date and segment configuration is all speculative.

That would really call into question his integrity, not that his integrity has not been dragged through the mud already. But this would pretty much ruin his credibility for good.

Yes, somebody at AMD probably threw scrambled eggs in his face and now he is pissed. Vengeful.
And of course you are going to get wide eyed commentary as this is in no way shape or form "normal" for Charlie D. From every article he's written for the past decade, it was easy to see that he'd rather stick needles in his eyes sooner than casting a kind word in Nvidia's direction.
So, don't be surprised at the commentary. Not one iota.

The world may be turning upside down: AMD did go premium pricing, nVidia may go for a more smaller die, sweet spot pricing and Charlie is saying positives about nVidia and Idontcare and BlastingCap don't seen to care if Angelie Jolie was a dude.
