Now let no one ever say that nV drivers are better than ATI drivers.
No, they can now keep each other company as they roll around in their mutual suckiness.

Why doesn't the story come up now? Link resets to a blank front page. HardOCP has nothing about it. Smells like more ATI-sponsored FUD for their fanchimps to lap up and proclaim, "nVidia sure has dropped the ball."

*cough* Charlie *cough*
Link doesn't come up. Whatever. It's funny how every little hiccup from nVidia is pounced open while major failings from ATi are forgiven. It's like dealing with Apple maniacs.

What are you talking about? Nvidia released a driver that is literally ruining some hardware. That's a problem. Nvidia admits this problem. This isn't some AMD sponsored fud.
Like others said, just don't upgrade for now. I'm sure Nvidia will fix this issue and hopefull take care of any people affected. Doesn't seem to be fud seeing as Nvidia is admitting to it.
Almost as bad as downplaying an official driver that kills cards a "little hiccup."
Are there any cases of it really ruining hardware though?

Big deal. Don't upgrade to the latest drivers until theres a update.

So funny. You're so used to bashing Charlie you failed to notice it's Theo Valich's site. Doh.

Cards being killed is not a "little hiccup".
How many cards were killed? I didn't see that link.
What I did see is a famous fanboy with AMD advertisements all over the page trying to make a big deal out of something Nvidia did wrong again.
I didn't see him linking a story about my AMD 5750 drivers sucking big time for 3 months!!
This Charlie guy is just a plain fanboy fudspreader.
If your not smart enough to see through this......well..... never mind.
His next story will be 5 million cards MIGHT be effected.
Just ridiculous.
There are quite a few reports in the nVidia forums of card failure, and considering only a minority of the total installed user base would update their drivers within a couple days of release, I think the issue might be fairly bad. Most having the issue wouldn't be able to post about it, seeing as they probably have one PC, and that's only among those that adopt the latest driver within the couple of days it's been out.
Even if it's only 1% or less, it's still a pretty bad issue though, considering what's been happening.
I remain personally unaffected, but then my card does use a non-standard fan control that can't be accessed by nVidia's drivers anyways... so I have no idea if this could have affected me if it weren't for that.
See through what? Why are you talking about Charlie in the first place? This Charlie guy is just a plain fanboy fudspreader.

No problems!
This article is pointless for a large number of you..
These drivers rock, just like the ones before it. nVidia never makes driver mistakes lol they just slipped lol a bit wet hmmm.
