Besides the limited 32 bit performance issue
discussed above, the
MX Cards are not a good choice for
1600x1200 resolutions or 1280x1024 at high
refresh rates.
There have been questions about the V5500,
MX, and Radeon quality. Here is my opinion
based upon my shopping experience at at store
that had the MX and Radeon (no VooDoo 5500),
but my rating is similar to that in the
review below.
Even the best quality video cards that are acknowledged
to be made by ELSA are tow notches in quality
below Matrox score of "10".

The Radeon recently improved the 2D quality
(my opinion)further to the "10" level with a new
patch.
The reaction has been extremely positive if you

I'm not sure what it is but the 2D advantage is
easy to see in business apps and in 3D games, the
image also seems that much better compared to
MX cards that I saw in the store, although
they were made by Creative and not ELSA.
