Nvidias WHQL status pulled for all Nforce motherboards in vista?

As of yesterday i have been getting messages related to the Nvidia PCI Management device in the device manager.

It literally says "Nvidia pci management is not supported by windows vista, please see xxxxx for a list of supported hardware".

Has MS pulled Nvidias WHQL status becuase of all of the OEM problems with their drivers? Its my understanding that OEMs use a special bios for vista activation and nvidias drivers corrupt the driver in vista that causes this to work by writing themselves into the same address space.

Ive seen this on an Asus Nforce based machine that was running vista ultimate edition, it just BSODs on load every time.

Edit: after checking with friends we have Nforce 2, 3, and 4 motherboards with current nvidia drivers getting the same error message.

Your BSODs likely say there's an error with NVMCP.SYS right? It has to do with audio portion of the MCP.

Notice how the nForce Vista drivers no longer include the audio drivers? Get the Realtek AC97 drivers and the BSODs should go away.

The errors have nothing to do with sound, its the PCI management bus.

I have no errors (BSODs i mean, i get the unsupported hardware error), its people with OEM machines that use the special BIOS that have the errors.

Im just mentioning the WHQL status drop and microsoft now saying that Nforce motherboards are "unsupported hardware" on vista now.

Nah, it's not hardware related. Or drivers related. I think Bill Gates lost a poker game to Jen-Hsun Huang and he's a sore loser.

Im using the same mobo, vista works as it always has, but it looks like MS might be strong arming nvidia into doing something about their crap drivers screwing up OEM machines.

Yeah, I feel like I've been waiting for new nforce4 chipset drivers forever. Well, I have. Since February. :/

But I'm not experiencing the error that the original poster is reporting.

My issue is only apparent if I have sleep and hibernate enabled. If I have my machine sleep and hibernate after inactivity, it will eventually BSOD after a few days. I prefer saving power and powering down when I'm not using the machine, so it kind of stinks. If I leave the machine continuously running, it's fine.

Its when windows searches for solutions to problems with your PC that the unsupported hardware message pops up.
