I would say it’s rare to see THAT many cops clustered together and there probably is some missing context. Seeing clusters of 3-5 standing around on their phones though? Commonplace.I would hope we're missing some context to that pic lol.

I work in Manhattan. I have one sister who lives in Manhattan and another who lives in Brooklyn.Seems like things are getting ugly on the subway. I know a couple of you here live there, any comment on the situation?
Hochul sends 750 National Guard troops to NYC subways following spate of violence
Get ready to open your backpack or bag to National Guard troops or state law enforcement when you ride New York City’s subway. Gov. Hochul is deploying 750 members of the Guard and 250 state and MTA police officers to subway stations to inspect passengers’ bags following a spate of violent...www.yahoo.com

OmgWhy are you making up positions for others to hold? Nobody says crime doesn’t exist, just that it’s not a particularly big problem. If you want to see a city with a crime problem look at Republican run Oklahoma City. Their murder rate is double that of NYC. If NYC had red state crime rates the country would lose its mind.
He lost by 7 points. That is not even close.
Murders in 2023 were lower than in 2012 and not far off the pre-pandemic average. I don’t recall anyone talking about a murder problem in 2012. New York City is among the safest cities in the country.
Well we know Getty the bot won’t be able to make it from bum fuck Russia. All this thread is doing is inspiring me to ask all the nyc peeps to meet up for a drink lol
They do nothing when you use 311 because most of the people you’re calling it on are cops.BTW it seems the cops are being told to really go after car drivers which drive without legitimate license plates.
Was driving at around 6PM this evening taking my wife grocery shopping and noticed them handcuffing some mid 20's males around with a car with no plates on the front and one of those paper number temp registration plates.. could be fakes. /shrug
I guess the TV press conference wasn't just for show..
Funny how they do nothing when you actually use 311.
I have personally not commented on your claims of a specific incident, but what is your point? Nobody said that there isn't crime. YOu are just making things up.So a few months back I made a post where me and the wife were first hand witnesses to a fist fight due to people bumping into each other on the subway.
Since I didn't video tape and was more concerned with our safety and got out of the subway cars.. I was called a liar since NYC is all goodie and nothing bad ever happens in there.
Well.. someone else with a little less common sense than me managed to stick around and video this and this is MUCH MUCH WORSE
I'd say this forum has its head up its collective ass and is ignoring the problems. When you fail to even acknowledge first world problems, it leads to people blindly believing lies that only Trump can fix it.

Also you sound like Trump in some of your posts lately, I mean that's not on anybody else but you.
FTFY, and maybe! But maybe you're right and there's a major split happening betweenNIMBY"can have a little fascism, as a treat" andYIMBY"prevent fascism" liberals.. that will split the vote and likely mean a Trump win.
And you would be saying one of the stupidest fucking things I've ever seen posted in here!I’d say this forum has its head up its collective ass and is ignoring the problems. When you fail to even acknowledge first world problems, it leads to people blindly believing lies that only Trump can fix it.

The national guard is just a show, this changes nothing. Also yes historically we have been putting way too many people in prison. That's not to say the pushback against that didn't go too far, but also nobody is addressing the underlying issues at all because Republicans would block any of it.Except people like you and politicians and think tanks believe we're incarcerating our base by putting too many people in jail for no reason.
What I'm trying to tell you is the people most victimized by crime is OUR BASE! They'd like a little safety from criminals thank you very much.
How many comments are there here that Hochul's just paying lip service and doing things for show. She's actually trying to solve the problem which is a lot more than other dems are doing...
And regarding your comment about me sound like trump.. well maybe you're being exactly like Trump where any disagreement is automatically called a RINO and getting bullied into submission or getting ejected from the party like MTG's comments.

JFC…
I'm not saying it's solidified. That is your perogative to call my assessment stupid.. but it's not often we acknowledge problems from our own side do we? Instead we just blame 2016 on bernie bros.
I'm instead accepting and owning up that maybe we need to fix things at home with our base to secure the dem vote long term rather than let it fragment due to apathy.
Maybe I don't come across as that way but I want us to be able to solidify the Biden vote come November!
Are you assuming it's already solidified?
You know the US has one of the highest incarceration rates in the world, right? You want it to go even higher!?Except people like you and politicians and think tanks believe we're incarcerating our base by putting too many people in jail for no reason.
The only problem Hochul is trying to solve is a PR one, as she has publicly stated. What I'm trying to tell you is the people most victimized by crime is OUR BASE! They'd like a little safety from criminals thank you very much.

NIMBYism is a bipartisan affair. And regarding your comment about me sound like trump.. well maybe you're being exactly like Trump where any disagreement is automatically called a RINO and getting bullied into submission or getting ejected from the party like MTG's comments.

When did law and order become fascism? Is preventing the daily looting of retail stores fascism? What about trying to halt random attacks, is that fascism?FTFY, and maybe!
A vote for Trump is a vote for fascism, hope this helpsWhen did law and order become fascism? Is preventing the daily looting of retail stores fascism? What about trying to halt random attacks, is that fascism?
The situation in some places is untenable, and the reaction to that will be greater police presence, check points, restrictions, curfews, and calling out the national guard to maintain order.

You are laughably bad at trying to conflate law and order and the left saying that is fascism. You know a vote for Trump is a vote for fascism not law and order. When did law and order become fascism?
