"The documents appear to have been acquired illegally and contain all manner of private information and statements that were never intended for the public eye, so they won't be posted here."

That was from when the NYT refused to publish the climategate emails because it violated their ethics, which apparently are very flexible.

I don't personally have any qualms with the times publishing the wikileaks, and frankly I really like reading the NYT, but I think the hypocrisy is blatantly obvious.

Freedom of speech, freedom of the press, as long as it agrees with the leftist NYT agenda.

Probably because it reveals some truth that would damage their cause. I just seen some damage control article on CNN about how "Israel this and Israel that" damage control, so my guess is the Jews are scared of this leak in some fashion. Since NYT is quite Jewish. My guess is their stance matches the nature of the leaks.

I think you've misunderstood the post.

The New York Times: All the news that fits, we print.

Or as Craig knows them, flagship of the right-wing media.

Can't say that I agree with publishing strictly off the record conversations. There's no whisteblowing in those cables, just stuff that was said under the pretense of confidentiality. Unless your position is that government should have absolutely no secret/confidential discourse, i don't see how anyone can agree with this.

I thought that O-T-R stuff is a fundamental journalistic principle...

To be honest most of it is boring to read. Cables are nothing more than cliff notes for people who didn't attend events. I feel sorry for the people that have to read them every day. I guess the occasional name calling content does help. The cables are out there if you look for them so not like NYT is doing something special.

And so were the climategate e-mails. The point is the hypocrisy disguised as journalist "integrity".

If it's bad for america and illegally obtained, NYT will print it post haste.
If it's against the liberal agenda they will stand on their "integrity" to not print it.

It's disgusting.

Translation: you want a credible newspaper to post illegal or confidential material the way wikileaks does

I would say this rather dents any credibility the NYTs had. It is blatant hypocrisy, no matter how you spin it.

Of course there's no difference between 100% tax payer funded activities, conducted by Federal employees, using Federal communication methods and those of some climate scientists at private institutions.

Gotcha.

Also, the NYT is clearing anything they release with the Feds first.

But hey whatever keeps your blood pressure up psychos.

Wait - are the apples the facts that support the progressive agenda, or are those the oranges?

D- on your attempt to justify the Times' bias.

How's that toe jam taste?

Oh, and BTW, the Climatic Research Unit of the university has been largely funded by the United States Department of Energy since the 1970s.

But keep sticking up for the NYT! They sure do need your expert help!

Why, if we didn't know the difference between the two, they'd look exactly the same! But you've cleared that all up for us, haven't you?

Hint: When your apples look like organges and vice-versa, you've had too much kool-aid.
