The distinction I made is that someone who does roofing, collects trash, etc do not generally die by someone actively trying to kill them. No, not all police do either. Some die by wrecking their cruisers, which is their fault. Just like someone who falls from a roof is at fault, or someone who falls from a moving trash truck, it is their fault. Cops have people who actually try to kill, stab, or run them over. That is the difference to me. Most professions have deaths by accident, while cops do too, they also have flat our murders while sitting in their cruiser.

Good report, done by real surveys with real cops, about police abuse. Perhaps you can comment on this report as well?

It states (cops themselves admitting to this) that 21.7% of police in your dept "sometimes, often or always" use more force then necessary.

14.7% of cops "sometimes, often, or always" respond to verbal abuse with physical abuse.

Only 16% say they never used more force then needed. So basically 84% of cops are admitting to breaking the law by abusing people at least once

You were saying about "few bad apples"?

56% say if they report a fellow officer, they will get the "cold shoulder". So much for cops policing themselves.

58.5% say they won't always report serious abuse by a fellow officer

You want to tell me I am lying about this too?

Many blacks do have more to fear from each other than police, you can't consider blacks as a monolithic set. If you are a upper class suburban black then your risk from a racist police officer is likely much greater unless you are involved in a domestic violence situation. Whereas if you're a young male in the ghetto your risk from peers is astronomically higher. It's not police killing hundreds of black kids in Chicago and other big cities, it's other blacks.

The same can be said for a white man anywhere. You are always more likely to be killed by a random citizen than a police officer.

For the most part yes. People by their actions can however significantly change the odds, say by being a violent criminal, or when interacting with a police officer deliberately doing something potentially threatening.

Which brings up the next point, I can understand it can be frustrating when you're black and potentially being stopped more often by police than is justified (whether in objective reality or just your subjective opinion). And sometimes those stops doubtless obviously are just harassment behavior on the part of bigoted cops. That still doesn't mean cops are "dangerous" or that you have the right to refuse cooperation or actively resist, lash out at, or physically assault the cop. Likewise no matter how much my bigoted mother-in-law deliberately taunts or annoys me I can't assault her either even if she really deserves it.
